The recent news that Grand Theft Auto VI got a big delay to 26 May 2026 may have soured the mood for fans, but Rockstar Games is bringing back the excitement with the release of a new trailer for the game after its first trailer broke the internet more than a year ago.
The new second trailer, captured in-engine on a PlayStation 5, showcases a more detailed look at the story and characters for GTA VI, with much of the focus on now-revealed protagonists Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos. You can view the trailer below:

Story and Characters

Rockstar Games also revealed more information about Grand Theft Auto VI’s synopsis and characters through the game’s official website.
The story follows Jason and Lucia, who “find themselves on the darkest side of the sunniest place in America, in the middle of a criminal conspiracy stretching across the state of Leonida” after an easy score goes wrong.
Like all Grand Theft Auto protagonists, both Jason and Lucia have a colourful history. Jason grew up around grifters and crooks, but had a stint in the Army to shake off his troubled teenage years. But trouble seems to follow him around, now finding himself in the Keys working for local drug runners. Meanwhile, Lucia’s father has taught her to fight as soon as she could walk, and that in turn has landed her in Leonida Penitentiary for trying to fight for her family.
Both of them want the good life, which is why they are determined to do whatever it takes to make it happen, setting them on their path in GTA VI.
Jason and Lucia are joined by a diverse cast of characters in GTA VI. For instance, there’s Boobie Ike, a “local Vice City legend” that has transformed his time in the streets into a legitimate business empire, spanning real estate, a strip club, and a recording studio. Then there’s Raul Bautista, a seasoned bank robber who is quick to raise the stakes to earn bigger rewards.

World
Vice City makes a triumphant return, and though it has been a long time since the 80s, it remains “the sun and fun capital of America”.
Exploring each neighbourhood of Vice City presents a unique experience. In one, you may see pastel art deco hotels and the bright white sands of Ocean Beach, or the bustling panaderias of Little Cuba and the bootleg brands of the Tisha-Wocka flea market in another—there is always something to see.
Vice City is also home to other areas like Leonida Keys, a tropical archipelago that serves as a gateway to paradise. Meanwhile, there is also the Grassrivers wetlands – home to mangroves. gators, and other far deadlier predators. Venture north and you’ll find Mount Kalaga National Park, a national landmark that offers prime hunting, fishing, and off-road trails.
