Just when you think adidas has already hit peak speed, they lace up and sprint even further ahead. Introducing the Adizero Adios Pro Evo 2–the latest next step in the brand’s famed Adizero brand. Being number two in name only, this highly-anticipated evolution of the race-dominating Adizero Adios Pro Evo 1 continues to push the boundaries of performance, building on the legacy of its predecessor.
While its older counterpart dominated the scene—being worn by more World Marathon Majors winners than any other shoe since its record-breaking debut at the 2023 Berlin Marathon, and helping adias athletes break three world records and win over 30 key road races—the Adizero Adios Pro Evo 2 promises to raise the bar even higher.

All-New Midsole
The footwear debuts a new midsole which packs 3mm more of adidas’ LIGHTSTRIKE PRO EVO foam in the forefoot, resulting in an almost 10% increase in forefoot stack height compared to its predecessor. This subtle yet significant boost translates into a softer, more responsive shoe, helping runners to maintain momentum with less effort over longer distances.
Additionally, lab testing by adidas has shown that the new midsole delivers a 5% increase in energy return when compared to the record-breaking Adizero Adios Pro Evo 1, so in a sport where every fraction of a second counts, that extra energy could be the difference between first place or a new world record.
Reimagined Outsole
The shoe debuts a fresh outsole which features a grid-like pattern strategically placed on the forefoot, engineered to offer traction as the foot hits the floor. Through this revamped design, the outsole will maximise grip and stability during toe-off, giving runners the necessary confidence to push harder with every stride.
Also, as seen in its forerunner, the forefoot rocker is still placed at 60% of the length of the Adizero Adios Pro Evo 2, ensuring that athletes like you experience a swift, efficient toe-off to maintain speed and momentum throughout their stride.
Evolution in Design
Speaking on its design process, Patrick Nava, VP of Product, Running & Credibility Sports at adias Running states that it was a “challenging but ultimately rewarding pursuit that started with simply looking at how [they] can make the fastest shoe [they’ve] ever created, ever faster–all whilst keeping the weight consistent.”
With this relentless need for speed refined through rigorous testing from the high-altitude training camps in Kenya and ther innovation labs in Germany along with elite runners like former world record holder Yomif Kejelcha, adidas has developed a shoe that delivers more energy return and a more efficient running economy with no compromise on agility, giving a feeling of comfort and confidence like no other shoe that enables runners to run their best race.
Finally, the design aesthetic of the Adidas Adizero Pro Evo 2 features a minimalistic silver finish, highlighted by bold red three stripes, that can be seen at any speed.
