You’ve seen Devialet’s unique sci-fi-like speakers on display, but how often do you get to hear them at their full potential? Opening amidst Singapore’s premier shopping district is Devialet Grand Hyatt, where general listeners and audiophiles alike can get to see and experience the company’s Phantom speakers, as well as their full range of audio products.
Devialet Grand Hyatt arrives not just as Singapore’s flagship store, but it also has the distinction of being the largest store in the Asia Pacific region – spanning an impressive area of 1,870 square feet. And with that generous amount of space comes a curated experience for anyone who walks in.
The Store
Devialet Grand Hyatt has two entrances from which you can enter—chance upon it from street level and you’ll get a peek of a party of Devialet Phantom speakers behind the glass facade, but enter from the Grand Hyatt hotel side, and you’ll be greeted by several of their products proudly on show.
And these audio devices are particularly special—they are the Phantom, Mania, and Gemini adorned with Gold Leaf. While these devices are nice to look at, they are even better when listened to. Just ask a friendly staff member to demo the speakers and get sucked into the sound.
The store has even more areas to try out Devialet’s range of audio devices. Right to the side, there’s a cosy lounge area for visitors to sit back and enjoy the Devialet Dione soundbar. Venture deeper, and there’s an area to try out the Devialet Gemini II wireless earbuds. The helpful staff walked us through connecting the earbuds to our phones and trying out the audio performance.
But if you want the full experience, then you should step into the Listening Room, an exclusive area dedicated to allowing visitors to sample the full array of Devialet’s speaker systems at its zenith.
The enclosed blue cube space serves as the centrepiece of the retail store, made soundproof to ensure that listeners get the best audio experience whilst making sure that other visitors can browse the store undisturbed.
The Listening Room is fitted with 10 speakers in total, with devices found at the rear as well as the top to bring a fully immersive audio experience. Here, you can have an intimate session to listen to the intricacies of a classical piece or be blown away by the booming sound from an explosion scene in a film.
Devialet Astra
As part of the opening of Devialet Grand Hyatt, Singaporeans will also finally be able to get the Devialet Astra integrated amplifier, which makes its debut here.
The Astra refines high-fidelity sound even further, with its advanced audio architecture preserving any nuance of audio. Users will get to enjoy the deepest of bass and the most delicate of treble—all produced with unquestionable purity and clarity.
Under the Devialet DOS3 operating system, the Astra is made to support all current and future Devialet products. Plus, it supports a range of streaming protocols, including AirPlay, GoogleCat, Roon Ready, Spotify Connect, and more.
The Devialet Astra starts at S$26,390 for its Solo configuration; and of course, you’ll be able to try it out for yourself in person at the Devialet Grand Hyatt store.
