That’s why on April 8 2025, be sure to head down to Ben & Jerry’s Scoop Shop at VivoCity for their annual Free Cone Day celebration, where —just like all the Ben & Jerry’s around the world— it will be serving up free scoops of ice cream, one cone at a time.
How’d It All Start?
Since its conception in 1979, Free Cone Day has been a way for Ben & Jerry’s to give back to the community that helped it grow from a single Scoop Shop in a renovated gas station in Burlington, Vermont, to one of the most beloved ice cream companies worldwide.
From what started as a simple “thank you” from co-founders Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield to fans for helping them survive their first Vermont winter, Free Cone Day has turned into a global celebration, with fans lining up for free scoops in more than 35 countries across the Americas, Europe, Oceania, and Asia!
Following last year’s record turnout, where fans helped Ben & Jerry’s scoopers serve over 1 million scoops of free ice cream last year, the brand intends to go just as big for this year too, which is why they’re also expanding their giveaway to include their Scoop Shop exclusives and non-dairy flavours alongside their classic supermarket options!
So, How Does This All Work?
It’s quite simple, actually! Show up at the Ben & Jerry’s Scoop Shop at VivoCity on 8 April 2025 and join the line, where you can dream of which flavour to choose while you patiently.
Whether it’s the Chocolate Fudge Brownie, Berry Berry Extra Ordinary, or Strawberry Cheezecake–there’s a flavour for everyone, especially when most are halal-certified too!
Here’s the real kicker, though: fans are encouraged to get back in line as many times as they’d like, so when you’re there, why choose one flavour when you could try them all!
