If your idea of Italian food is limited to overdone pasta and microwaved pizza, let us introduce you to a game-changer: Scarpetta. This brand-new pasta bar is here to show you what Italian cuisine is really about, authentically and simply delicious!
Scarpetta takes its name from the Italian tradition of “La Scarpetta,” the sacred act of mopping up every last drop of sauce with bread. Because when the sauce is that good, leaving it behind practically constitutes a crime. And if that’s the philosophy they’re working with, you can bet they’re putting their heart and soul into every plate.
Showstopping Starters

While pasta might be the headliner, Scarpetta’s appetisers are no mere warm-up act. They’re bold, vibrant, and packed with flavour, setting the stage for the meal to come.
Take the Cozze alla Marinara, for example. Featuring succulent blue mussels swimming in a rich, spicy tomato broth, it’s a dish that’s hearty, satisfying, and impossible to resist. If you prefer something a little more decadent, there’s the Burrata, where creamy cheese meets cherry tomatoes, fragrant pesto, and a drizzle of aromatic basil oil. It’s fresh and utterly delightful!
For something a touch heartier, the Tuscan Toasts are just the thing! Made with freshly baked Schiacciata bread, a thinner, crispier cousin of focaccia, these toasts come loaded with toppings! Indulge in creamy Stracciatella, premium uni flown in twice a week, and rich, charred bone marrow. Each bite is a perfect fusion of texture and flavour, something you’ll keep coming back for long after your first meal!
The Art of Pasta

Scarpetta takes its name seriously! This isn’t a place where pasta is just another dish on the menu – it’s the main event and the star of the show, the thing you’ll be dreaming about long after your meal is over.
Helmed by Head Chef Danny Ng, Scarpetta’s menu is a masterclass in simplicity and precision. Every dish is crafted with high-quality ingredients, meticulous technique, and a deep respect for the traditions of Italian cooking. But this isn’t about drearily following the same done-over recipes, it’s about elevating the familiar into something truly extraordinary.
The pasta selection is where Scarpetta truly shines. Whether you’re a purist who swoons over the minimalist elegance of Cacio e Pepe or a spice lover who craves the fiery kick of Spicy alla Vodka, there’s something here to satisfy every kind of pasta lover.
If that wasn’t enough, there’s the Bolognese Ravioli – a dish so rich and decadent it’ll leave you full for hours. Stuffed with tender beef cheek, bone marrow, sun-dried tomato, and aged Parmigiano, it’s an explosion of flavour and texture that will have you scraping your plate clean for the last morsels!
Speaking of bread, every pasta dish at Scarpetta comes with freshly baked Schiacciata bread, an essential part of the meal, ensuring no drop of sauce gets left behind.
Sweet Endings
No meal at Scarpetta is complete without dessert, and their sweet offerings are as comforting as they are indulgent. The Tiramisu stays true to tradition with its layers of espresso-soaked ladyfingers and creamy mascarpone, while the Cannoli offers a satisfying crunch filled with pistachio ricotta.
For something a little more playful, the Affogato pairs milk gelato with a shot of ristretto for a delightful contrast of hot and cold. And if you’re looking for a refined twist on a classic, the Gelato con Olio drizzled with Umbrian olive oil and finished with a sprinkle of sea salt – delivers a surprising yet utterly addictive flavour combination.
Dinner and a Show
Scarpetta isn’t just about the food, it’s about the experience as well. The cosy pasta bar seats just 30, with 16 coveted spots at the Chef’s Table, where guests can watch the magic happen in the open kitchen. This isn’t just dining; it’s more akin to a theatrical performance, where every plate is crafted and served in order to inspire and impress customers!
The intimate setting encourages connection, not just with the food, but with the people behind it. Watching Chef Danny and his team work their magic, you’ll gain a new appreciation for the craft and care that goes into every dish. It’s a front-row seat to culinary artistry and a reminder that great food is as much about the journey as it is about the destination.
