Ah… Chinese New Year; never a better time to refresh and revamp. Every CNY always has me scrolling through endless shopping platforms at least a month in advance simply figuring out what to wear. And I’d hate to buy something to wear for just a day and never again the rest of the year – it’s just not practical in the long run. If you’re anything like me and have absolutely no idea what to wear, don’t panic – instead, let’s turn to UNIQLO’s new LifeWear offerings!
As much as I love dressing up for Chinese New Year visiting, I hate sweating through my outfit just as much. With how warm the weather is, it’s basically inevitable. But with the lightness and breathability of UNIQLO’s collections, I’m sure it wouldn’t be a problem! Let’s break it down into 2 sections: the tops and the bottoms.
Tops
LifeWear offers a huge selection of linen and linen blend pieces, ensuring that you are kept cool as you travel from house to house. These flowy pants not only make your outfit casual yet put together, but they are also great for hiding anything you might be insecure about on the bottom half of your body while drawing attention elsewhere. While I cannot speak for everyone, the reason why wide-leg jeans are such a staple in my wardrobe is due to their ability to make me look taller. The way the pants cinch at the waist and drape nicely around the shoes at the hem – ooh, immaculate! It creates a balanced silhouette regardless of whether I’m feeling a baggier top or a fitted one. Besides, since I do lean towards a street-style aesthetic, these match perfectly – though I do like to have more elements than just simple plain jeans!
CNY Offerings
Beyond just the LifeWear collection, customers can look forward to adorable Chinese New Year UTme collections from 6 January to 30 January! These graphic tops depict the different animals of the Chinese zodiac as well as other elements that are iconic to the festivities. So grab your own if you’re ready to celebrate this upcoming Year of the Snake! However, they may not be available at every outlet so do check through the UNIQLO app before heading down.
From 17 January to 26 January, customers will be able to redeem a set of limited edition UNIQLO Red Packets and a handy UNIQLO Mini Bag, perfect to stash your oranges and angbaos when you go visiting! Simply spend a minimum of S$100 online or in-store to get this duo.
If you’re looking to personalise your outfits this Chinese New Year, then be sure to head down to the Orchard Central Global Flagship store as well for a pop-up customisation service! The RE.UNIQLO Studio Masterpiece REMAKE will be using a brocade fabric with new design options so do head down if you wanna add some spice to your plain tees.
That’s not all! The Lucky Charm Customisation Bar will be available at two UNIQLO locations! Up your luck and grab a personalised lucky charm with a minimum spend of S$120 and choose from a wide array of adorable trinkets. However, the customisation bar is only at the Orchard Central Global Flagship store from 17 January to 19 January as well as the Jewel Changi Airport outlet from 24 January to 26 January!
