Binge On Crunchyroll’s Winter 2025 Season Lineup

If you’re like me, you’ve probably been running out of shows to watch. It’s unreal how long I have to scroll through YouTube or other streaming sites just to find something to watch while eating. It certainly doesn’t help that I’m the kind of watcher where once I start a series, I cannot stop watching, or else I’d lose interest. 

Luckily, with every season, comes new anime and Winter 2025 is no different. From the very first day of next year, watchers can keep an eye out for all kinds of anime dropping. Keeping tabs for specific shows? Then read on for the upcoming new releases you can expect!

Ameku M.D.: Doctor Detective 

Starting off our list is a medical mystery series that takes place at Ten’ikai General Hospital’s Supervisory Department of Diagnostic Pathology. Watch along as strange occurrences and bizarre happenings plague the department. Despite being met with criticism, the Head Of General Diagnostics Takao Ameku dives headfirst into these unexplained mysteries to uncover and expose the shocking truth of these anomalies.  

I mean, no better way to kick off the new year than a heart-pumping mystery series, right? Even I’m intrigued by the premise of this series, after all. It’s not every day an anime takes place in a medical environment. If you’re curious to find out more, then count the days to its release date!

Headhunted to Another World: From Salaryman to Big Four! 

Leading as the first isekai anime on the list, Headhunted to Another World: From Salaryman to Big Four! sees mundane salaryman Uchimura Denosuke summoned into a new fantasy realm. Not just that, he is one of the Four Heavenly Kings leading a formidable army under the Demon King’s reign. So… he’ll probably get some cool powers? Nope, still as normal as before. Surely, nothing could go wrong, right?

Look, I’m not usually a fan of isekai anime. After all, the protagonist’s original characteristics are usually rendered redundant in the story. But this is certainly an interesting way to do it. Making use of the protagonist’s previous nature and experiences while placing them in a completely new and different environment – I can’t wait to see how this plays out.

Possibly the Greatest Alchemist of All Time 

Accidentally caught up in a hero summoning, Takumi Iruma is offered compensation – choosing any ability he wants to start over in this new world of swords and magic. Dreaming of a peaceful and quiet life he selects the seemingly boring skill of “alchemy”. Turns out, he picked something so powerful that he could create next to anything! Follow along with Takumi’s reluctant adventure as this OP skill turns him into a wealthy merchant and undefeatable in battles – what shenanigans does his future hold?

Featuring classic isekai tropes, dive into a fantasy world filled with magic and creatures! Comical and heartwarming, Takumi takes full advantage of the ability he has been bestowed with to make his new life as easy and carefree as possible… but, things aren’t going to be that easy.

I’m Getting Married to a Girl I Hate in My Class 

Set to inherit his grandfather’s major corporation, high school student Saito Hojo is set up with an arranged marriage with fellow classmate Akane Sakuramori. It doesn’t seem like that big of a deal – she’s pretty cute. Just one problem: they hate each other. Determined to keep this marriage under the radar, the newlyweds navigate through their new phase in life. Slowly, they get closer to each other and maybe, being married isn’t so bad after all.

In a usual case of the enemies-to-lovers trope, at least we know our two protagonists got the “bicker like a married couple” thing down to a tee. This adorable rom-com taps on so many classic tropes that – let’s be honest – you just can’t hate. Watch the tension between our couple soften into something else and get ready to squeal when they finally have that moment of epiphany!

OKITSURA: Fell in Love with an Okinawan Girl, but I Just Wish I Know What She’s Saying

Gear up for a whirlwind of misunderstandings in this next one. Teruaki Nakamura transfers to laid-back Okinawa, where sand and water stretch for miles. Here, he falls for the bubbly Kyan-san — just one problem: her accent and dialect are a complete mystery to him. With Higa-san translating, Teru’s island life begins! But… It seems like Higa-san might want his heart too. 

Travel away from the city and towards the coast in this rom-com. Presenting a hilarious love triangle by the ocean, watch along as Teru navigates his new daily life alongside Kyan and Higa!

ZENSHU 

After the success of her first anime, animator Natsuko Hirose is put in the spotlight for her genius. However, her next project and directorial debut aren’t all smooth sailing. Standing in her way is a rom-com about first love, sounds easy right? But Natsuko has never been in love before, hitting a creative block. She wrestles with her lack of experience, coming up blank when visualising the storyboard. Watch along as she embarks on a journey to unravel the intricacies of first love, all while grappling with the anxiety and expectation of making another hit. 

After a slew of shounen anime, MAPPA Studios shifts gears towards a more heartwarming anime in ZENSHU. Delving into the professional and personal day-to-day of an animator, the complexities and pressures of this industry are revealed in the show. While it’s easy to focus on the visuals and forget the work that is put into creating an anime, ZENSHU sheds light on the arduous journey and sacrifices made by anime directors behind the scenes.

Medaka Kuroiwa Is Impervious to My Charms

For Mona Kawai, winning hearts and turning heads is basically her second nature. She’s adorable and has everyone wrapped around her pretty little finger – well, almost everyone. Medaka Kuroiwa, a recent transfer student won’t even give her a second look. Refusing to back down and hell-bent on winning him over, watch as she goes to comical extremes just to change his mind. But, what’s that tight feeling in her chest every time she is met with a stone-cold glare from him? 

This next rom-com brings us an entertaining twist as the female protagonist tries aggressively to win her target over. The polar opposite characters are sure to bring some laughs as well as some moments of second-hand embarrassment!

Throwback to 2020 – the start of COVID-19. Having already given up hope for the dazzling youth she dreamt of, Mizuki is resigned to her fate… that is, until her childhood friend, Kizuki, asks her out.

Nothing like living through the peak of your youth during a pandemic! Join Mizuha and the four boys she grew up with – basically her family at this point – navigate through the tumultuous journey of high school and adolescent crushes in this youth anime. Guaranteed to be filled with childhood nostalgia, I already foresee myself crying at some point in this anime – it truly has happened with every show that had similar themes to this.

Will he be able to find the relaxation he wants or will the unexpected happening of this world be more than he can handle?

If you find the art style and visuals strangely familiar, then your eyes are not fooling you. Farmagia features character designs by Fairy Tail creator Hiro Mashima and has staff from the anime that are part of the creative process here as well!
