Let’s face it – Christmas in Singapore can feel like an oxymoron. In a country where the weather only has two moods, hot and hotter, the idyllic Christmas image of snow, winter jackets and comforting eggnog seems a world away. But not at Christmas Wonderland 2024!
Here, the festive spirit is alive and well – as much as in any snowy country! This year’s edition pulled out all the stops with carnival rides, dazzling light shows, and a Christmas feast worthy of Santa’s dinner table! From giant Supertree light installations to laser shows that are out of this world, here’s everything that made this year’s Christmas Wonderland an absolute sleigh!
Big Lights and Big Vibes

The moment you step in, you’re hit with the pièce de résistance – a massive light installation, the Spalliera, that immediately sets the holiday mood! Constructed in a gorgeous Italian Gothic style, it’s almost beautifully blinding – hundreds of bright lights add up to create a beautiful sparkling monument to festive cheer. Add in the Supertrees – dressed up like giant Christmas trees – and immediately, the Christmas vibes are set!
Pair that with live music and a bustling carnival atmosphere, and you’re instantly transported to a different time when everything seemed a touch more vibrant; when you still believed that Santa would come down the chimney to deliver presents if you were on the nice list that year.
But the real star of the night? The Garden Rhapsody light and sound show. Combining music with stunning visuals, it was a feast for the senses – a beautiful medley of Christmas classics coupled with the lights on the Supertrees flickering and shimmering in concert with the beats.
In addition to the Garden Rhapsody show, the Borealis lights were also on full display! Picture this: enchanting beams of light cutting through the night sky, backed by ethereal music that made us feel like we had ventured into the icy reaches of the North Pole, and that Santa’s workshop was just around the corner.

Oh, and did we mention Blizzard Time? Using bubbles in place of snowflakes, a blizzard-esque snowfall blankets the Spalliera area of the event. It sets a truly magical Christmas ambience, as you get to see ‘snowfall’ in sunny Singapore, where it’d be unthinkable normally!
Watching kids (and more than a few adults) lose their minds over the flurry of snowflakes was pure entertainment. Be warned though, the bubbles get everywhere, in your hair, on your clothes, devices, and even on the food and drinks, so be sure to cover up what you don’t want to be showered with bubbles! Don’t worry, though, as the faux snow dissolves with just a few wipes.

Lastly, the diminutively-named Bluebell Lane offers a quiet escape from the hustle and bustle of the carnival. A light display reminiscent of old Christmas fairy tales, it encompasses a whole forest path lit up in haunting, mystical blue.
Rides and Games

What’s Christmas without a little fun and games? The carnival rides this year were an adventurous kid’s dream! From a Mini Viking to the grand double-storey Venetian horse carousel, the only one of its kind in Singapore, there’s a suitable ride for all the family!
And especially for the little ones, the CDG Zig Express Christmas Train is a Christmas Wonderland highlight, running between the Supertree Grove and Santa’s Village. Of course, all the rides are decked out in festive decorations that’ll transport you momentarily to a true Christmas paradise!

If you’re feeling a little competitive, there’s a ton of carnival games to try at Christmas Wonderland 2024! You can look forward to highlights such as the festive-themed Snow Smash and the carnival stalwart, the Ring Toss!
We tried our hand at the Lobster Pot game and managed to win an adorable dinosaur plushie on our second try! But remember: it’s not about winning, it’s about the fun you had while playing!
Festive Food

Feeling hungry after all those carnival rides and games? Good. Because the lineup this year is a foodie’s dream. Whether you’re craving hearty Mexican fare from Mexi-GO, light bites and dessert from SOHTT, or seafood galore at AHOY, there are food options for everyone.
As for us, we got the croffles from SOHTT, which come in a variety of flavours! You can pick three, and we picked lotus biscoff, Nutella + sprinkles, and Milo Dinosaur – and it was without a doubt the best thing I had tasted that day. Honestly, I’d go back just for this; a definite 10/10 and a can’t-miss if you come with foodie friends!
Mistletoe Alley

If you need to tick off some holiday shopping, Mistletoe Alley has your back. You can look forward to a huge range of retail options, from personalised gifts and mini jewellery to more Santa-themed merch than you could ever imagine existed in one place.
There’s even a photo booth that we visited that allows you to capture your Christmas Wonderland 2024 experience in a moment in time, complete with festive-themed backgrounds!

One standout that we found particularly interesting is Bloated Santa, a shop which, ironically, is packed with mystery boxes for a good cause, donating to a cancer fund in Singapore with every purchase! And if you’re into cute yet functional gifts, they sell microwaveable-and-freezable bears that can be kept hot or cold for up to forty minutes if you want to warm yourself up or cool yourself down.
Along with Bloated Santa, we also visited Boss and Olly, a shop specialising in customised gifts for your furkid! We couldn’t resist stopping to buy something so our pets could join in on the Christmas cheer.
