IRVINS X Wingstop: A Salted Egg Revolution Takes Flight

What came first – the chicken or the egg? Actually, that can be confusing – so let’s not dwell on it! Putting that debate aside, here’s something more exciting –  a new combo in town that marries the best of both worlds. Everyone, put your hands together because Singapore’s beloved salted egg flavour has found its soulmate in hand-tossed wings!

Yes, you read that right. IRVINS and Wingstop have joined forces, with IRVINS’ Dangerously Addictive salted egg sauce bringing its distinctly Asian touch to Wingstop’s signature wings. And the overall flavour profile of this dish has been rigorously tested to perfect a recipe that will make you rethink everything you know about wings. Ready to dig in? Keep reading!

The IRVINS X Wingstop Collaboration

Salted egg adds a layer of complexity to the chicken wings we know and love!

Flinging the chicken-egg paradox out the window, IRVINS’ salted egg flavour – with its unmistakable umami notes – complements Wingstop’s iconic chicken wings wonderfully. This irresistible collaboration brings the fruits (or rather, the wings) of the brands’ labour to the wider Singaporean audience, available for both classic and boneless options for a limited time.

Our team got their hands on the boneless wings, and here’s what they think! First off, the wings were crisp and well-coated without being drippy. So if you enjoy a drier, more manageable wing (without getting too messy), this is right up your alley. There were also initial concerns about the salted egg flavour being too overpowering – you know how intense that umami kick can be – but surprise, surprise! This meal was light, balanced and seasoned just right. Tastefully incorporated, if you will.

A little sauce never hurt anybody!

Now, if you’re a hardcore ranch lover or simply prefer some sauce to your bite, don’t hold back. Our team paired their wings with Wingstop’s tangy ranch dip, and it was a match made in heaven – so feel free to do the same!

And to those who have yet to yield to the buttery, savoury appeal of salted egg (it can be an acquired taste, we understand), let this be your delicious dose of exposure therapy! It’s the perfect gateway into the joys of salted egg, with its gentle tang sitting pleasantly on the tongue. So just wing it, and give it a go.

You can even enjoy this exciting meal with two hearty combos. Here they are!
