Space has always been a subject of fascination for me! From begging for a telescope for my birthday, to reading up on constellations and staying up late for the faintest chance of catching a passing comet, it’s for sure something that’s captured my sense of wonder since young.
That’s why when I heard that Space Explorers: THE INFINITE had officially touched down in Science Centre Singapore, I was over the moon (pun intended) with excitement! Promising an experience akin to living aboard the International Space Station (ISS) through a fully immersive VR experience, it’s the closest I’ll be able to get to space without ever becoming an astronaut!
With that in mind, let’s get into what Space Explorers: THE INFINITE has to offer before I blast off to go see it for myself!
Up Close and Personal with the ISS
What blew my mind when I first learned about Space Explorers: THE INFINITE is that you get to navigate a life-sized VR replica of the ISS! Presented by Science Centre Singapore and Kingsmen Exhibits, you’ll get to experience the day-to-day life of astronauts in full – floating through the narrow corridors and conducting cool science experiments!
And just when you think it can’t get better for space fanatics, Space Explorers: THE INFINITE throws you into a virtual spacewalk – the kind of thing you usually only see in Hollywood movies, think Interstellar and Geostorm, but in front of your very eyes!
That alone would be enough to blow most peoples’ minds, but hold on tight because the exhibition wraps up with a VR viewing of NASA’s Artemis rocket launch! A cinematic, immersive experience that’s almost as awe-inspiring as the real deal (minus the fire and fue)l. It’s like having a front-row seat to the future of space travel, without even having to leave the Science Centre!
Feeling Like an Astronaut
Space Explorers: THE INFINITE also gives you a behind-the-scenes look into the daily lives of astronauts, through exclusive footage and video diaries—from their morning routines to their out-of-this-world views of Earth from the ISS. It’ll make you feel like an honorary astronaut, without even blasting off!
Co-Founder of Felix & Paul Studios and Creative Director, Felix Lajeunesse, explained, “We can really make them feel like participants, so they can experience an astronaut’s journey from within.” So, if you’ve ever dreamed of being an astronaut, now’s your chance!
Based on the Emmy Award-winning series Space Explorers: The ISS Experience, this exhibition is packed with real stories from actual NASA missions, making it as educational as it is entertaining!
Space Explorers: THE INFINITE
Here’s the round-up: if you’ve ever looked up at the stars and wondered what could be out there, Space Explorers: THE INFINITE is just the place for you!
