Celebrate Deepavali 2024 with Bhoomi by Milind Sovani’s Special Menu!

It’s October! You know what that means? My fellow Hindus, it’s time to start counting down the days to Deepavali! This year, celebrations are starting to sound a lot more exciting, thanks to Bhoomi’s exclusive Deepavali menu! Specially curated by none other than Michelin-starred Chef Milind Sovani, these ten dishes are bound to transport your taste buds straight to the heart of India!

Bhoomi takes pride in paying homage to authentic traditions and sourcing specialised ingredients from India. Chef Milind, with his culinary experience and extensive travels across India, has created this special menu unique to this restaurant. As the lights of Deepavali bring warmth to our homes, Bhoomi’s bringing the kind of fireworks your palate will never forget. So let me give you a sneak peek!

Opening Appetisers

Tease your appetite with the Murg Gilafi Kebab!

For starters, there’s the Murg Gilafi Kebab (S$26), a succulent minced chicken seekh kebab with a flavorful bell pepper coating! This kebab is an explosion of colours and textures, studded with finely chopped peppers that create a mosaic of red, green, and yellow. Just imagine a mouthful with the crunch of the red onion rings paired with the subtle sweetness of the peppers and the tender, juicy chicken – it sounds divine!

To my vegetarians, fret not. You’re in for a treat with the Tandoori Aloo Ki Nazakat (S$22) – potatoes grilled to smoky perfection in the tandoor (clay oven) and stuffed with edamame, cottage cheese, and dried fruits. I simply adore Indian flavour combinations, don’t you?

Kandhari Paneer Tikka – I’m suspecting the next crowd-pleaser; you can never go wrong with paneer!

If you were to ask me what my favourite food is, I’d tell you any variation of paneer (Indian cottage cheese) – so I’m all for the Kandhari Paneer Tikka (S$24)

Just look at how it glistens with a vibrant red hue in the spiced beetroot and cashew marinade! I can already imagine the slightly charred edges of the paneer dancing on my tongue. Kissed with green garnish and lined up in a compelling row, this dish is begging for a taste. And, of course, any Indian dish is an excuse to have sliced rings of red onion on the side!

Mains: Highlights

Now, brace yourself because the mains will have your tummy rumbling! The Subz Miloni (S$22) is a masala-mixed vegetable dish topped with spinach, adding a crisp touch to every bite. Pair this with the Kaju Makhana Pulao (S$14) – a basmati rice dish tossed with cashews and fox nuts – and you have a match made in food heaven.

Kesariya Badami Kofta – Don’t rush through this one! Each morsel is a royal experience.

If you want something more indulgent, the Kesariya Badami Kofta (S$24) checks the box. Sinking your teeth into the creamy almond cheese-stuffed koftas that swim in a velvety sea of saffron-infused curry will have you licking the plate clean! Not to mention, the plating is absolutely gorgeous, with garnishings delicately placed to add a pop of colour. This comfort food has really dressed up for the occasion.

Have a look at the rest of the mouth-watering dishes on Bhoomi’s website! Take note that the Deepavali menu is designed for sharing, serving 2 to 4 people per dish.

A Sweet Ending

What’s an Indian feast without dessert? But we’re not talking your usual mithai here! The Paan Kulfi (S$10) – or betelnut-flavoured traditional Indian ice cream – in particular, sounds like the most refreshing way to wrap up the meal and bring it to a satiating end.

These would make a sweet gift – literally!

The fun doesn’t have to stop when you leave the restaurant! In partnership with Anjali Chocolates, Bhoomi is also launching a special edition of Indian-inspired chocolates for Deepavali.

With Saffron Kheer Cups, Chai Spice Truffles, Fig and Walnut Pralines, and more, these chocolates are little bites of bliss! And they come packaged in boxes with lovely rangoli motifs, available in sizes ranging from 9 pieces to 40 pieces and priced between S$42 and S$110+. But heads up – they’re only available during the Deepavali season or till stocks last, so get your hands on them while you can. Fill in this form to reserve your chocolates!

More Information

If you can’t make it to Bhoomi during the Deepavali celebrations – first let me offer my condolences. But there’s still some good news!
