IKEA Singapore’s October Food Offers Is Here To Light Your Tastebuds

Happy October! It’s nearing the end of the year and many places are dishing out fresh new meals to suit the upcoming occasions. IKEA Singapore is no different. Besides the iconic Halloween, Deepavali also brings about a host of interesting eats. So let’s dive into what new stuff IKEA has to offer us in its iconic Swedish Restaurant!

Festive Eats

Opening our lineup of festive eats is the Chicken Briyani (S$7.50; S$6.50 IKEA Family price), in celebration of Deepavali! A distinct leave from the milder flavours that IKEA’s Swedish Restaurant usually offers, the Chicken Briyani is a delightful twist.

On sale from 3 to 31 October, vibrant reds and orange contrast the normally neutral or cool colours of the Swedish Restaurant’s fare. This meal is easily split into 3 components, all of which work together to bring the perfect dish. A spice-filled basmati rice is paired with a tender chicken drumstick drizzled with a thick curry, complemented by a side of crackers and achar – what a mouthwatering sight!

Reminds me of what you can find in a hawker centre

Those who are hesitant to jump straight into such an aromatic journey can first test the waters through the Vegetable Balls with Curry Sauce and Green Salad (S$8; S$6.40 IKEA Family price). Instead of the usual mashed potatoes and gravy drizzled on the vegetable balls, customers get a sharp, tasty curry with potato chunks, bringing them closer to the usual curry dish. Bright orange meets the neutrals of the vegetable balls in this fusion of dishes. Available from 3 to 31 October, try this dish out for yourself this Deepavali!

Finally, to wrap up your meal, why not try the Halloween Cake (S$4.50; S$3.50 IKEA Family price)? This funky-looking cake, which you can get from 26 to 31 October, is another addition to the growing list of Halloween dishes in Singapore. With an orange base and green decor, this dessert is sure to catch the eye of whoever walks past it. But does it look as good as it tastes? Well, the only way to find out is to grab it for yourself!

It looks too adorable to eat

World Food Day: Eat For A Cause

Considering meatless options? There’s no better time than now to try them out. For every portion sold of certain plant-based meals from 1 to 31 October, IKEA Singapore will donate S$2. They include the 8 Plant Balls with Mashed Potato and Green Salad, Plant Ball with Organic Spaghetti and Green Salad and Vegetable Balls with Curry Sauce and Green Salad

This is all to spread the word on World Food Day. World Food Day promotes awareness and action to end hunger and food insecurity for all. In an effort to raise awareness, IKEA Singapore will be donating to fund the School Goodie Bag Programme by Food from the Heart. Did you know that the programme has already supported more than 6,770 beneficiaries this year?
