Everyone, mark your calendars because Chinese New Year is less than a month away! I’m committed to indulging in the festivities, so let me take you along for the ride! Introducing the one-stop event, I guarantee will put you in the holiday spirit. It’s none other than CNY Family FUN by the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre (SCCC) and Singapore Chinese Orchestra (SCO)!
From 26 to 28 January, immerse yourself in every activity you can think of. With games, performances, workshops and craft activities, you might as well clear your whole weekend because this is fun you wouldn’t want to miss out on.
Allow me to walk you through the amazing happenings the CNY Family FUN will offer so you can kickstart your Lunar New Year on the right note!
Spring Bazaar
Starting off strong, we have the Spring Bazaar, which will feature a total of 40 local booths selling virtually everything. From gorgeous apparel you can wear for Chinese New Year visits to delicious CNY goodies you can share with your loved ones, the Spring Bazaar will have everything you need to prepare you for the long list of festivities.
If the shopping marathon eventually tires you out, fear not, for Old Chang Kee has your back! With the Old Chang Kee food truck, you can nibble on one of Singapore’s most delectable snacks for fuel.

BeLONG’s Art Playground
CNY Family FUN is giving you a blast to the past with the BeLONG Art Playground! The playground explores Singapore’s unique Chinese New Year customs, all while allowing you to go wild on the HDB-inspired playground set.
The playground wonderfully fits the theme of this year’s zodiac animal – the illustrious and majestic dragon! This year’s installation will take place on the rooftop, which will have us all feeling like we’re soaring through the skies like the mighty dragon!

Rhapsodies of Spring 2024
Since the CNY Family FUN is brought to you by the SCO, it would only be right to expect a grand performance with a fantastic lineup through Rhapsodies of Spring 2024! This year’s performers include Drum Feng and the Taman Jurong CC Juboon Dragon and Lion Dance Troupe. It will also be hosted by CAPITAL958 DJs Yeow Seng Yong and Goh Wei Ying!
Let them evoke the spirit of the dragon within you with music pieces that will have the hairs on your arms standing at salute. With pieces like Dragon and Spring Returns SG, you’ll be taken on a symphonic journey like no other. Tickets are unfortunately sold out but you can still catch the televised version, airing on 10 Feb at 12pm.

A Spring Portrait
After a long day of laughter and joy with your loved ones, you would want to encapsulate this wonderful experience in a photo! If that sounds like something you would enjoy doing, remember to drop by A Spring Portrait.
Professional photographers will help you create a collection of portraits for you and your family to look back on for years to come. To really get you into the festive mood, go crazy and adorn traditional Hanfu garments for a family photo you’ll cherish forever.

Bloom Up Your Spring
The auspicious season calls for some home redecoration, and what better way to do it than by using your own handmade decor? With Bloom Up Your Spring, you’ll be able to learn the craft of floral arrangement, whilst also hearing about the cultural significance of the flowers themselves in Chinese traditions.
The programme is conducted in both English and Mandarin, so everyone in the family can take part, young and old! What will you be able to come up with?

Lucky Hunt for Wealth presents a thrilling quest that requires teamwork and problem-solving skills to outsmart the various challenges in this treasure hunt-based game. The ultimate prize awaits everyone at the end of the game; be sure to keep your wits to share in the spoils.
