Sing, Celebrate, Repeat: HaveFun Karaoke’s Flagship Unveiled!

It’s not a karaoke session without someone singing horrifically off-key, someone confidently singing a song they’re hearing for the first time, someone butchering the lyrics, and someone screaming into the microphone like no tomorrow. That is the true karaoke experience. And there’s a new place in town to do exactly that – HaveFun Karaoke, the largest karaoke chain across Singapore, unveils a brand new flagship store at Orchard Cineleisure. And that means over 52 Karaoke Rooms and 6 Party K-Rooms to party it up! Your time has come!

Imagine your typical karaoke room. Have it in your head? Good. Now imagine your dream Karaoke Room. That is what HaveFun Karaoke brings you at their new flagship. Each room is space-themed, looking so futuristic that it’s as if they were transported to you on a time machine. If I could describe the lighting in every room in a word, it would be “perfect”. The vibes? Immaculate. The ambience? Electric. The hype factor? Insanely high. You see? Perfect.

The Rooms

HaveFun Karaoke doesn’t just bring the aesthetics. It also brings the quality. The quality of the sound as soon as you bellow into the microphone will leave you (and your next-door neighbours) appalled. But fret not. No one cares! Everyone is too drunk on the vibes to care about your singing skills (or your lack thereof).

Each Karaoke Room is equipped with sharp features that make you feel like the main character in that room. As soon as you step in, you’ll see a little tablet next to the door that will be your control centre for the session. And my, oh my, will you be drunk with power. 

At the tip of your fingers, you will be able to control the lights with a myriad of settings. Whether you want something reminiscent of clubs and parties, something more chill, or even for it to match the song you’re singing, the vibes are in your very hands. See? Drunk with power.

When you step in, scan the QR code on the screen and pick your favourite songs to be queued. Your device will then become your remote control – adjust volumes and skip songs all you want. And everyone gets to do it at the same time without disrupting the session on your screen. This saves precious minutes during the session when choosing songs and arguing with one another over which song to sing – brilliant!

Grab the high-quality microphones and get ready to sing like you’re the performing act at Madison Square Garden. Everyone has their own go-to songs to sing during karaoke, but if you’re struggling, here are some songs we think would liven up your karaoke partay!

The whole point of karaoke isn’t to wow the people around you with your phenomenal singing (although it’s amazing if you do). The point is to make absolute fools of yourself with the perfect track being your backdrop through it. And the above songs kind of do that.

On top of the Karaoke Rooms, there are also party rooms, AKA the VIP rooms. Feel special yet? Entertainment is redefined within these four walls. We’ve obviously established that the Karaoke Rooms are drop-dead vibe-alicious, but so are the party rooms. 

They’re just as stunning as the Karaoke Rooms. But with another layer of professional lighting and sound that elevates your karaoke experience like never before. They are also massive. Humongous. Gigantic. Your neck will be snapping at the rate you swing it from left to right, admiring all the features and sheer size of the room. The biggest room, which is the VVIP room, is perfect for a party of 50 to 60 people, everyone sitting in a circular seating arrangement while being surrounded by colossal LED screens.

FATE Nightclub

We also checked out HaveFun’s brand-new nightclub – FATE! They’ve got the music, the bites, and the vibes. And here’s the best part – it’s ladies’ night every night. It’s free entry for all the ladies every night! So, ladies, have at it! I was flabbergasted when I heard this. If my jaw could literally drop to the floor, it would’ve.

The club area is packed with tables for you to order drinks and bites for a boozy time. But when you’re feeling the urge to shake it off and dance the night away, you’ll find a dance floor at the front, near the DJ’s console. You’ll also get bracelets in three different colours before you enter – orange, pink and yellow. The first two represent whether you’d like to mingle with the opposite gender or otherwise, while the last means you’re good on your own for now. So it certainly is a place to hang out and meet new people (wink, wink!). FATE, you ate.

I must admit that FATE doesn’t exactly scream ‘club!’ to me. Maybe more of a bar with a dance floor, and even that, too, doesn’t come with the best music. The spotlight here is mainly on the dining and drinking scene, so if dancing is what you’re looking for, maybe this isn’t the place for you. 

Nonetheless, it’s a fun way to end a night of karaoke with some dancing and mingling at FATE, which is on the same level as HaveFun Karaoke. Especially for all my girls, if it’s free entry, why not?

There are also fun munchies for you to dine on! Bar bites will magnificently complete your experience, being your fuel during your karaoke and dance sessions when you need a little break. 

The menu stars an array of bar bites and platters, including tantalising treats like Crispy Chicken Skin (S$9.90), Mala Dumplings (S$9.90), and classics like French Fries (S$9.90) and Popcorn Chicken (S$9.90). The Mala Dumplings are yummilicious. They’re a tad spicy but nothing crazy, so it still works well if you’re not into spice.
