Oh, Harries, your time has come! Harry Styles is in Singapore! In wax form. At Madame Tussauds Singapore. But still! This incredibly life-like form of the superstar we’re all so in love with is in town, and it feels as if Harry himself is really here. Madame Tussauds introduced seven new wax figures of the GRAMMY-winning superstar, with one coming to us here in Singapore during the Halloween season. It’s a Halloween miracle! Happy Harryween!
Seven Harry Styles’ wax figures are unveiled across London, New York, Hollywood, Amsterdam, Berlin, Singapore and Sydney, making Singapore the only stop in Asia to house this beautiful, talented man – sorry, his wax figure! (Hyper-realism is getting to me with this piece of Harry right here on our sunny island.)
But this isn’t the first time Harry has been wax-ified. OG Harries might remember his legendary band that made history and whose mere mention summons its entire fandom – One Direction – had their wax figures made in 2013. However, the figures have been retired as of 2022, making this Harry Styles wax debut all the more anticipated.
Clad in his iconic blue and yellow two-piece outfit that he donned during the Glasgow show of his massive world tour, Love On Tour, Harry stands with one hand up in the air, hair styled to perfection, tattoos peeking through his clothing, complete with his rings (including his Gucci lion head ring that seems to be a fandom-wide known secret that it’s Harry’s favourite ring).
Observing Harry up close was an experience from start to finish. He looks more real than Harry himself! From the colour of his eyes and his eyelashes to the details on his fingernails and in his hair, we can’t even imagine how much work must have gone into creating this masterpiece.
A fun fact about Madame Tussauds’ wax figures is that they are built to be as similar to the body proportions of the actual stars as possible, including their height. According to the internet, Harry Styles is 1.83 metres tall, but imagine my shock when I realised that 1.83 metres is actually not as tall as I imagined! I might have envisioned Harry to be this unfathomable, non-human, god-like giant, but seeing this wax figure also reminded me that he’s just as human as we all are. Strange epiphany, but an epiphany nonetheless!
The six other wax figures pay homage to Harry’s most iconic looks over the years, encapsulating his signature style that has put him forth as the fashionista he is, breaking boundaries and stereotypes through fashion. Ah, the man that you are, Harry Styles!
Madame Tussauds London celebrates actor Harry, who drove Twitter (now known as ‘X’) absolutely bananas (if you know Harry’s banana song that he sang at nearly every show, including here in Singapore during Love On Tour, you know!) with his My Policeman premiere look – a forest green blazer and pistachio trousers!
Madame Tussauds New York honours one of Harry’s most iconic outfits ever, as well as one of his most legendary performances in his career – headlining Coachella 2022! His dazzling rainbow sequined jumpsuit was a statement, especially wearing it on a stage as massive and prestigious as Coachella’s.
Madame Tussauds Berlin keeps the tradition going with Harry’s other Coachella outfit that made waves with its bold and fresh look – a pink leather waistcoat and oversized pink fur coat. The vibes were immaculate. The girly-pop had popped off. The fur fed our combined obsession with feather boas. What a time to be alive!
The looks Harry served during his Live On Tour and Love On Tour world tours deserve a whole article to themselves.
But Madame Tussauds lauds those outfits in Amsterdam with the suit he sported during the Dallas stop of Live On Tour: the pink embroidered double-breasted suit which spoke true to that chapter of Harry Styles’ fashion story.
Speaking of pink, Madame Tussauds Sydney doesn’t miss a beat with Harry’s signature look that we have seen in various styles (pun not intended!) and forms throughout Love On Tour – a somewhat long-sleeved unbuttoned shirt that exposes a dangerous amount of skin, high-waisted pants and a feather boa.
This wax figure models Harry’s famous look from the San Jose stop of Love On Tour: an electric pink shirt, red high-waisted pants, and a pink feather boa.
And finally, Madame Tussauds Hollywood must have known how much we loved this look and immortalised it for us in the seventh figure – the crazy bronze fringed sequin vest that exposes his sculpted abs (literally), complete with a pearl necklace. Harry never forgets his pearls!
We can’t resist Falling in love with Harry and his journey. Watching his looks transform during different chapters of his career reminds us that while it might not be the same As It Was, we will always carry the memories we’ve made together – through the Daylight and the Late Night Talking. We Adore You, Harry!
From honouring his career milestones to his best looks on stage, Madame Tussauds presents us with the perfect Halloween gift. Being the first time we miss Harryween on stage since 2021 with the end of Love On Tour, the void in our hearts has been filled with this lovely experience.
And the experience is yours to take on! Yes, you can meet Harry too! In wax form. His figure is now officially open to the public at Madame Tussauds, so go right ahead! Take those selfies. Let yourself get lost in the moment. Let yourself fawn all over this Sweet Creature.
Let this be a gift from Madame Tussauds this Harryween. But wait. How can we mention Harryween and not bring up one of the most iconic lyrics the royal Harry-ness has ever sung, which is perfect for the trick-or-treat season: “Did you dress up for Halloween? I spilt beer on your friend, I’m not sorry”.
Well, I’m not sorry to end this off here because it’s time for me to get in a car and Keep Driving to Madame Tussauds to relive my moment with Harry Styles again! (And I’m also not sorry for my not-so-subtle song references.)
