Calling all musical theatre fans, did you hear the news about good old Hamilton? Singapore is finally being added to the list of stops on Hamilton’s first international tour! You won’t want to throw away your shot at catching this multi-award-winning production in Singapore, premiering on 19 April 2024 at Sands Theatre, Marina Bay Sands, presented by Base Entertainment Asia.

Hamilton Singapore: Performance
Experience Hamilton – Now in Singapore for the first-time ever!

If you didn’t know, just like Hamilton himself, the musical came from humble beginnings. It was launched into stardom, premiering on Broadway in 2015 and has raked in 11 Tony Awards, seven Olivier Awards, a Pulitzer Prize and a Grammy. Beyond its remarkable influence on the theatrical landscape, it has significantly affected culture, politics, and education — it is undoubtedly one of the greatest productions of our time.

Based on historian Ron Chernow’s biography of Alexander Hamilton, the musical follows the inspiring story of the American founding father. Set in 1809 America, Hamilton highlights the unshaking resilience and ambition of Alexander Hamilton as he built a legacy that shaped one of the biggest nations of the time. Don’t be fooled by the story though! The motifs of Hamilton are transcendent and will hit the homes of people everywhere.

The production has played seasons in London’s West End, Australia, Germany and New Zealand. And now, to add to that extensive list, they are embarking on their first-ever international tour, including stops in the Philippines, Abu Dhabi and now Singapore!

Producer of the Hamilton international tour and CEO of Michael Cassel Group, Michael Cassel, himself mentions: “I’m thrilled to bring Hamilton to Singapore and continue the show’s global journey. Hamilton’s themes of hope, equality, and the power of storytelling are universal. It has been a thrill to see audiences fall in love with the show – be it in Australia or the Philippines, and I’m excited to see it connect with audiences in Singapore.”

And, of course, we can’t discuss the production without mentioning its unique soundtrack that draws inspiration from genres like hip-hop, jazz, R&B and Broadway. Created by Lin-Manuel Miranda, the genius also behind In the Heights, the Hamilton playlist is widely recognised, even by those who aren’t musical theatre enthusiasts.

Hamilton helped to reshape the Broadway scene with its dynamic storytelling, unforgettable soundtrack and out-of-this-world visuals– you can’t say no to catching this trailblazer live on stage!
