Attention, Singapore’s music lovers! You’ll want to free up your schedule because to celebrate its 18th year, Music Matters Live is bringing you 6 nights of music you can’t miss.
Featuring 35 awesome up-and-coming artists hailing from 20 different countries, this FREE music festival will run from 8 to 13 September 2023! Here’s what you need to know:
Music Matters Live @ Clarke Quay kickstarted the festival, running from Friday, 8 September and will last till Sunday, 10 September.
With Singapore’s very own Benjamin Kheng headlining, Friday’s stellar line-up includes Nathan Hartono (SG), Sezairi (SG), Paige (NZ), and Teddy Adhitya (ID), with Love X Stereo (feat. DA1SY DØØM) (KR), KIRE (TW), critic’s choice Mauvey (CA/UK), and the new duo of NIGHTONLYSTUDIO (Gummy B and wannasleep) (TW) following on Saturday and Sunday.
Next, MUSIC MATTERS LIVE SELECTS will be held on Monday, 11 September, at *SCAPE Ground Theatre. Monday’s set includes some of the best-emerging artists from all over the world, including the returning acts of Teddy Adhitya, Mauvey, and Love X Stereo (feat. DA1SY DØØM), as well as Nadav (IR), Boo Seeka (AU), and the fan-favourite Kalpee (TT).
Tuesday, 12 September, will see the festival continue at *SCAPE with Warner Music Presents, a showcase of Warner Music’s 8 biggest signings in the region.
This set is absolutely unmissable, featuring the biggest DJ/Producer/singer-songwriter in Asia, SHAUN, China’s top Hip Hop star, thomeboydontkill, P-Pop megastar FELIP, and Vũ, the Indie pride of Vietnam. Also included are LUSS (TH), Abus阿布絲 (TW), yonawo (JP), and Paul Partohap (ID). Drinks from ecoSPIRITS and Proof & Company will also be featured on 11 and 12 September of the festival.
The festival’s final night on Wednesday, 13 September, will comprise 2 showcases: Girls Night Out and ONErpm Presents: FUNYOUCANFEEL.
Back at Clarke Quay, Girls Night Out will celebrate the region’s best new female artists. Gracing the stage will be Singaporean rapper J.M3 and singer-songwriter JENE, Saudi Arabian artist Fulana, Malaysian pop singer Claudia, who managed to catch the attention of BTS’s Jungkook, Australian up-and-comer BIRDEE 王煒, Paige, and finally Love X Stereo (feat. DA1SY DØØM) once again.
And last but certainly not least, Yang Club Singapore will hold ONErpm Presents: FUNYOUCANFEEL, showcasing some of Asia’s hottest spark plug popstars such as Ethan Low, CLUB BOYBND, KIRE, CLAUDIA, HNATA, and CHANKA.
