Low Tide’s new menu brings a tropically rich taste of Southeast Asian cuisine

It’s common to seek a form of escapism amidst the hustle and bustle of our daily lives. When finding a bar that can do just that, Low Tide offers a unique avenue by serving tropical Asian cuisine in an unpretentious, tiki-esque setting.

Low Tide has two storeys: the main level, named Topside, offers breezy, al-fresco tables to unwind over a refreshing drink. Head downstairs, and you will enter The Cave, where the atmosphere shifts to a more immersive, aptly-fitting mood.

The Cave matches a deep dive into the tropical setting with a collaborative cocktail menu.

It’s a great setting to indulge in some food and drinks, and as it turns out, Low Tide will bring a whole new menu to delight patrons!

New Food Options

Developed in conjunction with Culinary Anthropologist, Nithiya N Laila, the new food menu follows a global tropic food philosophy, focusing on the cultural and ecological significance of tropical ingredients and cuisines.

For sharing-friendly options, there are plenty of options to pick from — like their Nasi Ulam (S$18), made from fragrant blue rice, torched pineapples, mixed herbs and pomegranate. It is sure to fill the stomach! But before that, you might want to start with their Low Tide Salad which provides a refreshing mix of sweet and savoury flavours straight from its juicy fruits and creamy peanut sauce.

Savour the flavours of new dishes, such as Low Tide’s Portoro (S$58/68).

Other mouthwatering dishes include The Fisherman’s Catch (S$20), Miso Butter Stingray ($S22), and their signature Portoro (S$58 / 300g or S$68 / 400g), a 36-hour sous vide short rib with a decadent rendang butter marinade.

Exciting New Drinks

Low Tide offers different selections of drinks depending on which section you’re sitting at. At Topside, 18 varieties of cocktails and spirits are available. Highlights include the classic Low Tide Daiquiri (S$22), and the Swizzle & Flow (S$22), made with Low Tide rum blend #1, acidulated mint syrup, maraschino, fino sherry, lychee, lime and soda.

Also available are spirit-based drinks such as the Carrot Colada (S$22) with Stranger & Sons Gin, pink peppercorn, carrot, coconut cream and lime, or Grape Intentions (S$22) with Wheatley Vodka, dry vermouth, red grape cordial and lime.

The Cave, meanwhile, offers a different approach to drinks by featuring a collaborative menu by friends of the venue from around the world.

The menu comprises creative cocktails by Lost Boys of Low Tide, Aaron Goodall and Ronan Keilthy, who are from the bar’s original founding team. Aaron made the distinctly orange Sugarlandia Swell, while Ronan devised the Mynah Details — a drink that brings beach vibes.

Clarified Zombie, an exotic cocktail created by the team from Junglebird (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.)

There are other cocktail creations on offer as well. Also involved are the teams from Junglebird (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia), Tropic City (Bangkok, Thailand), Clipper (Auckland, New Zealand) and Jacoby’s (Sydney, Australia). Junglebird, for instance, are the minds behind Clarified Zombie — an exotic concoction that you’ll be able to enjoy as part of the new menu.

With the new food and drinks menu, now’s the best time to discover and experience Low Tide’s two unique spaces! For more information, you can visit their Official website or check out their socials on Instagram
