Last Friday, I embarked on an adventure through NEX’s Relive the Adventure at Jurassic Park, held from 25 May to 18 June at NEX Atrium Level 1. The walk-through experience is equipped with many fun-filled activities for Jurassic Park fans, such as the Jurassic Park-themed walk-through experience, meet-and-greet sessions with a velociraptor, and fun movie nights! Although most of the activities are more kid-centric, don’t fret, as there are other activities in store for everyone else.
Get up close and personal with dinosaurs, such as the ferocious velociraptors and even the mighty Tyrannosaurus Rex, with the intimate walk-through experience at the event. My experience was not as scary as the original film, but it was still one of a kind; no need to run here! But be quick, as the walkthrough experience is only available till 18 June.
The fun doesn’t stop there as a whole range of activities awaits from 8 to 18 June. The excitement builds up at the LEGO Play Zone, where kids can bring their imaginations to life with LEGO bricks from the all-new LEGO Jurassic Park product line.
Although my age was not exactly geared towards this activity, the kids I witnessed playing seemed to be having so much fun as they let their imaginations run while experimenting with the LEGO bricks.
Next, you can pop by the Mattel Play Zone to engage in a colouring session with your favourite dinosaur when you purchase a product from Mattel’s Jurassic Park toy range. Stand a chance to win exciting prizes too, when you participate in the mini colouring competition.
Meanwhile, Mattel’s latest Jurassic World Toy Diorama makes learning fun, with the display available for the kids to play with. They will then be guided to scan the Mattel QR code, which unlocks dinosaur information and facts from the Jurassic World Facts App. My knowledge of dinosaurs was definitely broadened through this fun feature as I learnt many new and interesting facts!
I had the most fun trying the Spit Blocker Challenge for some Jurassic adventure. You can simply join in by scanning the QR codes placed around the walk-through installation to play. The mission? Move your phone and tap on as many Dilophosaurus’s frills as possible to block the spitting attacks within 60 seconds.
This activity was my favourite as it was a unique experience. The challenge is also fun for people of all ages, so everyone is welcome to try it. Word of advice; find a big enough spot, as you will certainly need the space to move around!

The highlight of the event was being able to see the ferocious and highly intelligent velociraptor up close and personal. I have to admit; I did feel a little nervous as it felt like I was seeing a real velociraptor! So stay safe from these ancient giants by keeping a distance away, and do not attempt to touch or feed the velociraptors! The Meet the Raptor Encounter photo-taking session is only available from 9 to 11 June and 16 to 18 June at various sessions throughout the day.
