Singapore Art Week is back again, this time using โ€˜Playโ€™ as the theme for this year. Over 700 artists and curators from Singapore and around the world will be present to showcase the splendour of the visual arts medium. With more than 130 programmes and exhibits available, the event is the place to experience the diversity, vibrancy and growth of the visual arts community.

Aliwal Urban Art Festival

Try What Now January 2023: Aliwal Urban Art Festival

The seventh edition of the Aliwal Urban Art Festival begins this January! The vibrant urban culture scene will be highlighted at the festival, featuring free activities such as live graffiti painting, music and dance performances, and a pop-up artistsโ€™ market.

Prominent local artists like ANTZ, BONY, Demster, nuriman, KILAS, PHATNOEZ, SAM LO, SPAZ, and more will showcase their artistic talents at the FLIPSIDE exhibition, where they are challenged to create art in the tabula scalata format (two images within a singular canvas).

Singapore Motorshow 2023

Try What Now January 2023: Singapore Motorshow 2023_

Singaporeโ€™s largest and most iconic motoring event is back after a three-year hiatus. See the latest models from 24 automotive brands or get up close with the extensive line-up of electric vehicles at the show. 

But the event is more than just a car show. Witness the Russ Swift Stunt Show, where Russ Swift will be performing heart-racing stunts that will have you at the edge of your seat. MediaCorp celebrities such as Pierre Png, Rebecca Lim, Elvin Ng, Kym Ng, He Ying Ying, and more will also make appearances at the event. Thereโ€™s also the chance to win a Nissan or Subaru car through the lucky draw!

Light to Night 2023

Fancy a visual spectacle while out in the Civic District? Light to Night is here with an exciting line-up of day-to-night immersive art experiences to discover!

Among the festivalโ€™s highlights are large-scale day-to-night installations, live performances, and over 60 other programmes available for visitors to experience. The Art X Social festival market also returns, bringing more than 50 arts and crafts booths, food and beverage, workshops, and more.

Textures 2023

Try What Now January 2023: Textures 2023

Held in conjunction with the Light to Night 2023 festival, Textures celebrates all things literature! Multi-disciplinary artist Jason Wee curates the event. It brings a wide range of literary art programmes such as dramatised readings, multi-disciplinary performances, installations, a pop-up bookstore, and much more.

Dahlia Dreams

Try What Now January 2023: Dahlia Dreams

The auspicious dahlias help usher in Chinese New Year at Gardens by the Bay, with a vibrant display at the iconic botanical park. See these blooming beauties alongside the equally impressive magnolia tree on display.

ART SG

Try What Now January 2023: ART SG

ART SG is a new international art fair for Singapore and Southeast Asia, with over 150 leading galleries from around the world making their way to the red dot to showcase exceptional artworks from the region and worldwide.

The fair is divided into different sectors, each focusing on various aspects like solo or duo artists and new galleries under the age of six years. There are also large-scale site-specific installations, a curated film sector, and critical and thought-provoking talks available to experience as ART SG celebrates the rich diversity of art from around the world.

Date: 12 to 15 January 2023
