9 Things to Do in Singapore: December 2022

1. Space Fest

Though we won’t be travelling among the stars anytime soon, you can still experience the wonders beyond the clouds in Singapore. At the Singapore Expo, Space Fest brings a unique lineup of space-themed activities for lovers of all things interstellar.

Among the event highlights are Funtasia, Singapore’s largest indoor inflatable indoor theme park, go-kart experiences, space-themed food trucks, Instragrammble festive lighting, VR games, and a 5D cinema. Also, you’ll be able to catch FIFA World Cup games in a special outdoor setting, with nine matches available to watch.

2. Singapore Comic Con

Previously known as Singapore Toy, Game & Comic Convention (STGCC), come to get your pop culture fix at the rebranded Singapore Comic Con (SGCC)!

Curating the best of toys, comic and gaming content from across the globe, SGCC is offering activities like fan-based zones, cosplay competitions and an esports arena to bring a fun-filled weekend experience with your friends and family. Many special guests and exhibitors will also be at the event to keep you busy at the con.

3. Living Pictures: Photography in Southeast Asia

As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words. And with National Gallery Singapore’s upcoming Living Pictures: Photography in Southeast Asia, you’ll experience a lifetime’s worth of stories.

Over 300 photographic works will be on display, spanning 150 years, ranging from colonial archival and documentary photography to photo albums, social media photos and modern interpretations. Here, you’ll experience the medium’s history since its arrival to Southeast Asia in the 19th century and explore how it has evolved in the modern period.

4. Culture Cartel 2022

Culture Cartel returns for its fourth edition as a physical event to spotlight all things street culture, with close to 200 brands, creative talents, designers and personalities making an appearance at the event as they showcase their work, merchandise, services and performances.

Thai-Chinese multidisciplinary artist BENZILLA and sneaker/streetwear platform OXSTREET are just some names that you’ll be able to find at Culture Cartel 2022 to bring the biggest street culture event of the year in Singapore.

5. ART OF WELLNESS: Presented by Crossing Cultures x Caravanserai

Treat yourself to two weekends of wellness with Asian Civilisations Museum (ACM) ‘s ART OF WELLNESS, a supersized lifestyle festival dedicated to having you look and feel good.

Highlights include an outdoor “supermarket” featuring Asian superfoods, herbs and culinary creations, and music performances to lift spirits. There are also wellness workshops and drop-in therapy zones at the festival to pamper yourself as 2022 winds down.

6. Christmas Wonderland 2022

Gardens by the Bay is going out for Christmas again this year as its Christmas Wonderland event returns for its 9th edition, now with more attractions to delight visitors of all ages.

Give your eyes a feast at the Garden Rhapsody light and sound show, or head to the Games Village to try out the traditional carnival games and rides! Festive food and beverages from Brewerkz, Burger & Lobster, Hendrick’s, and more are available to enjoy alongside live performances as you fully take in the Christmas atmosphere.

7. Body & Spirit: The Human Body in Thought and Practice

Featuring over 100 objects from the National Collection, private collectors, and local communities, ACM’s Body & Spirit: The Human Body in Thought and Practice aims to showcase how rituals, healing practices, and divine images from different faith communities affect the human body.

The exhibition will highlight the importance of the human body in these religious rituals and practices, with objects from St Joseph’s Church and Masjid Darul Aman providing a look at its effect.

8. The Great Bay Fiesta 2022

Uncle Ringo is back in the Bay after a three-year-long hiatus with a new lineup of blockbuster entertainment that’ll have you ending the year feeling merry!

Be wowed by The Great Cirque des Cascades as the international circus stars bring thrills, laughter, and excitement throughout the 80-minute show. Meanwhile, The Great World Carnival by Uncle Ringo provides nostalgic emotions for adults and fun for kids with classic rides like the Ringo Slide, Big Carousel, Pirate Ship, Bumper Car and Water Boat. 

The Ice Magic: The Great Fantasy on Ice attraction will cool you down with a winter wonderland playground, letting you build snowmen or try out activities like Ice Bowling. Lastly, stuff yourself with fairground feasts from The Great Food Fiesta from local and international brands.

9. Don’t Let Daddy Know Singapore

End 2022 with a literal bang as Don’t Let Daddy Know comes to Singapore to count the year down with an exciting lineup of musical performances from Don Diablo, Farah Farz, DJ Koo, and more!
