Lighter than air – Acer releases their new Swift Edge

With a hybrid working style becoming the norm, many of us now have to constantly be out and about, be it meeting clients or navigating between home and the office. This calls for a lightweight and portable device that can handle multiple tasks at once. Fret not, as Acer’s new Swift Edge might be the solution.

The new Swift Edge is Acer’s latest addition to their “Swift” series – a range of laptops designed for portability and efficiency. It weighs in at an absurd 1.17kg due to its chassis being made out of magnesium-aluminium and measures only 12.95mm in height, making it the sleekest and lightest laptop the world has ever seen.

It also features a 16-inch, 4K OLED display capable of hitting 500 nits at peak brightness, allowing for stunning colours and cinema-grade visuals, and has a response time of just 0.2ms to boot. Furthermore, with TÜV Rheinland Eyesafe Display Certification, you can use the laptop for extended periods without the risk of over-straining your eyes.

Acer: Swift Edge
The Swift Edge is exceptionally sleek and clean

In terms of performance, Acer’s Swift Edge is no slouch. Powered by AMD’s Ryzen PRO 6000 series processors, it can meet the performance needs and demands of everyday professionals like you, who require fast processing speeds and smooth responsiveness to achieve maximum levels of productivity.

Furthermore, with Microsoft Pluton integrated into the processor, malware attacks and security events are minimised, as your protecting credentials and encryption keys are protected. The Swift Edge also utilises biometric authentication and a Noble Wedge Lock for additional security, making the laptop extremely safe and keeping users at ease.

If you’re wondering about the laptop’s connectivity, you’d be delighted to know that it comes with essential ports such as HDMI 2.1, two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C ports that allow for fast charging, and two USB Type-A ports. In addition, Swift Edge also offers Wi-Fi 6E, allowing for high-speed connections and high-speed file sharing.

As for pricing, the Swift Edge will cost S$2,598 and S$2,298 for the AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 6850U and AMD Ryzen 5 PRO 6650U SKUs, respectively. In addition, they each come with two colourways for you to choose from, namely Flax White and Olivine Black.

For more information on Swift Edge, you can check out their info page. And if you’ve been sold, go ahead and purchase it from either their Direct Website, Shopee, Lazada or island-wide retail stores.
