Desaru Coast Ferry Launch Brings Your Next Weekend Getaway Fix

Pristine blue waters, sipping cocktails by the beach, basking in the sun and enjoying a getaway has been a mere fantasy for many since the pandemic – I know it has been for me. However, a quick escape from city life seems much more possible with travel restrictions slowly easing up. So if you are looking for a getaway fix to spruce up your weekend, look no further than a trip to Desaru Coast in Johor! With the launch of the new Singapore-Desaru ferry services, your island escapade is a mere ferry ride away.

Desaru Link Ferry Service, a subsidiary of Batam Fast Ferry Pte. Ltd. (Batam Fast), now connects Singapore’s Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal to Desaru’s Ferry Coast Ferry Terminal with a quick 90-minute ride. The ferry services officially set sail on 7 July and will operate one round trip service from Thursdays to Sundays during the initial months.

Many have already reserved the upcoming long weekend to soak in the luxury of Desaru Coast. As demand rises further, Batam Fast will continue to scale its services and increase the frequency of rides.

While many have their tickets booked, prices remain discounted at S$98 for the next three months to commemorate the start of the much-awaited service. Customers can purchase discounted tickets via the promo code available on Batam Fast’s website.

You might then wonder, what exactly is there to do at Desaru? Well, Desaru Coast is Malaysia’s largest integrated destination, so there is a wide array of activities to consider, which will leave you spoilt for choice!

Some of the must-dos on the itinerary include visiting Adventure Waterpark, home to the first-ever water coaster in the region and one of the biggest wave pools in the world, as well as the Els Golf Club, a 45-hole golfing paradise designed by former world number one golfer, Ernie Els.

That’s a lot of fun activities to check out. But If that is still not tempting enough, Desaru Coast has also introduced exclusive packages for hotel stays and a new category of Day Packages, all of which include return ferry tickets if guests purchase directly from the Desaru Coast website

A 3D2N-Hotel-Stay inclusive of a two-way ferry ride starts at S$753.45 (RM 2379), while a Daycation Deal starts at S$119.72 (RM 378), inclusive of an admission ticket to Adventure Waterpark, a return ferry ticket and a S$9.50 (RM 30) F&B voucher.
