Quick Beats April 2022: Gallery of Secrets

The Theatre Practice is partnering with National Gallery Singapore! They present a multi-platform treasure hunt inspired by the gallery’s artworks and history that audiences can enjoy either entirely digitally or as a physical and digital hybrid.

It’s an experience with a treasure hunt narrative that combines the fun puzzle-solving elements of escape rooms with the theatricality of performers from the team at The Theatre Practice. At the end, you can cap it off with a unique cocktail made for the experience by Smoke & Mirrors, located on the rooftop of National Gallery Singapore.

Best of all, there’s the chance to win a prize of S$1,800 in cash. So be sure to complete the hunt as fast as possible!

HSBC Singapore Rugby Sevens 2022

Quick Beats April 2022: HSBC Rugby Sevens Singapore -

It’s rugby season again for fans of the sport as HSBC Singapore Rugby Sevens returns after a hiatus to bring live rugby action from the world’s top rugby sevens players.

16 teams will be competing amidst the lights of the National Stadium at Singapore Sports Hub to win the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series title for 2022. Come watch to see if New Zealand will retain their crown or will South Africa continue their dominance in the Singapore leg.

Easter Wonderland at Jurong Bird Park

Quick Beats April 2022: Jurong Bird Park Easter Wonderland

Jurong Bird Park is transforming their space into an Easter Wonderland this April with a line-up of Easter-themed activities for the whole family to enjoy.

Their largest walk-in aviary, the Waterfall Aviary, will undergo a makeover to become an Egg-chanted Forest with coloured eggs scattered across the rainforest, which you can go searching for while amongst the free-flying birds. There’s also a special Golden Egg hidden which will grant a special prize of assorted merchandise from the park should you be lucky to find it. While there, you can also see the Scarlet Macaws in action as they gather with their avian keepers for an interactive session with the audience.

Other activities include the Whimsical Wonderland Maze, where you can learn more about our feathered pals as you navigate through the maze.

Singapore Symphony Orchestra’s April Performances

Quick Beats April 2022: Singapore Symphony Orchestra Ray Chen

Singapore Symphony Orchestra (SSO) has recently returned to having full orchestras back on stage after a two-year break. This April is set to continue the arrangement with their lineup of performances.

Violinist Ray Chen will be performing in not one, but two concerts this month. The first is with SSO Chief Conductor Hans Graf as they serenade audiences with the soaring Sibelius Violin Concerto. The second is an intimate performance showcasing Ray’s multi-faceted personality as he performs classics like Bach’s immortal Chaconne to Debussy’s Clair de lune.

French-Georgian piano star Khatia Buniatishvili will also be making an appearance this April as she performs with SSO Principal Guest Conductor Andrew Litton as they bring the likes of Tchaikovsky’s First Piano Concerto to the fore.

Songkran Water Fest 2.0 at Wild Wild Wet

Quick Beats April 2022: Wild Wild Wet Songkran

Wild Wild Wet is bringing the Thai New Year festival to our shores with their Songkran Water Fest!

There are new activities to experience, like the Water Gun Tag Battle, hopping around a large inflatable maze as you look to douse your family and friends with water. ‘Water warriors’ will also be roving around in their Water Punisher tanks looking to spray unsuspecting people at the Tsunami pool, but you can always give them some payback with your own water gun.
