A Fusion of Nature and Technology: Rainforest Lumina Lights Up the Wild Again in its Final Season

When you hear ‘Singapore Zoo’, I’m pretty sure the first thing that comes to mind is the typical animal enclosures. But what if I tell you that a whole new experience awaits you with Rainforest Lumina? Beginning at 7.15pm on 8 July 2021, Rainforest Lumina is a unique nightwalk experience in the forest and is Southeast Asia’s only Lumina.

Melding nature and technology together in this unforgettable experience, visitors will get to enjoy a multi-sensory journey that expertly harmonises the natural sights, sounds and scents of the rainforests at night.

Focusing entirely on the setting and environment, visitors will immerse themselves in a symphony of lights, beautifully orchestrated music and interactive play that will inspire everyone to appreciate nature and help protect wildlife and conserve biodiversity so habitats and the planet can continue to thrive.

Rainforest Lumina’s Creature Crew is made up of eight virtual animals, each embodying a special virtue reminiscent of their species. This year, visitors can look forward to singing and playing with them at the popular interactive play zones, as well as being part of a dazzling laser display as they make their way through the Luminous Pathway.

Other highlights also include taking a walk through thousands of sparkling pixel lights at the Shimmering Islands, as well as enjoying the symphony conducted by Bob, the playful otter. At last, the visitors’ journey will conclude with a stunning laser and projection display that reminds visitors that nature and humans are one, and we must all do our part to protect the rainforest.

If you want to hang out with your friends but aren’t sure what to do, you’re sure to have a fun time at the Rainforest Lumina. Whether it be taking Insta-worthy pics, or just taking in the beautiful lights with your loved ones, Rainforest Lumina is a perfect family-friendly activity that can appeal to all. Who knows, you might even come away with new knowledge that you didn’t know before too!

Admission tickets to Rainforest Lumina may be purchased online from 1 July 2021. As part of an opening special, tickets can be purchased at 50% off between 1 and 7 July! If that huge discount isn’t enough of a deal-breaker for you, then I don’t know what is.

But even if you can’t clear up your schedule for that week, worry not — you’ll still have some good deals waiting for you! Singaporeans and Permanent Residents can enjoy up to 30% savings (when usual prices are $18 for Adults/Youths and $14 for Children/Seniors). Tickets can be redeemed using SingapoRediscovers Vouchers too!

But, do note that Rainforest Lumina isn’t a permanent attraction. This seasonal attraction will only run from 8 July 2021 till 13 Feb 2022, so do visit while you still can!

Rainforest Lumina is available on Thursdays to Sundays, public holidays and eve of public holidays from 7.15pm to 12.00am, with the last admission at 10.15pm. In addition, visitors to any of the Wildlife Reserves Singapore’s day parks – such as Jurong Bird Park, River Safari or Singapore Zoo – need only top up S$10 to complete their wildlife experience with Rainforest Lumina.

So, if you are already visiting any of those attractions, I’d recommend you to do the top-up, because it’s definitely worth it. For more information or to even book your tickets, do visit their website!
