I don’t know about you, but IKEA food has always brought forth nostalgic childhood memories for me. Whether it be browsing through the pantry with the trolley, excitedly picking up the meatballs (IKEA’s must-have item, of course), and a whole assortment of other dishes, the entire experience dining at IKEA has always been a fond one.
Now that we can no longer dine in, it had seemed as though it would be quite some time before I could revisit IKEA’s restaurant again, so imagine my delight when I found out that they now offers islandwide delivery for their Swedish Food Market!
Beloved IKEA menu items, such as the Swedish Meatballs with Mashed Potato and Broccoli, Chicken Wings and Salmon Fillet with Medallions and Hollandaise Sauce, will now be available on the Foodpanda app.
Gone are the days where you had to travel all the way to Tampines or Alexandra for their food — you can now shop a whole variety of Swedish products and have them all delivered straight to your home.
That being said, you will still have the option to pick up your food straight from their outlets if you want. They will be extending its Click and Dabao food pick-up service to IKEA Alexandra and IKEA Tampines from 7 June onwards, allowing you to enjoy your favourite Swedish meals from the comfort of your own homes.
So how does it work? Well, you just need to scan a QR code and follow the steps online to pre-order from IKEA’s Restaurant and Bistro menu and make an e-payment. You will then receive an SMS when your order is ready for collection, which you will need to present at the counter to collect your food at the nearest outlet. This reduces waiting time and ensures that your food will remain fresh and delicious!
Do note that the Click and Dabao service for IKEA Jurong will only be available upon the reopening of Jem, in compliance with the MOH advisory.
Though the experience will undoubtedly be different, the comforting taste of IKEA’s Swedish foods remains the same and will be more than enough to satisfy your Swedish cravings. Whether you wish to have your meal delivered straight to your homes, or want to go down to collect it yourself, the options will be open for you according to your convenience!
