I think we all agree that 2020 may not be the best year — but fret not, it can still end with a bang with New Balance’s newest pop-up installation!
Diner-style seats, a counter and lively New Balance illustrations greet you as you enter. Inspired by the vintage aesthetics of the 1970s, the New Balance 327 diner seems to bring you into a whole other country the moment you step into the store. Who knows? Maybe it’d help satisfy some of your wanderlust for now.
The bright pastel blues and pinks, retro interior, neon lights and checkered floor all pay homage to the American Diners in the 1970s. Designed by a local creative studio, the New Balance 327 diner’s interior is eye-catching, yet nostalgic. You definitely wouldn’t want to miss checking the store out for all those in love with vintage aesthetics. (if only for how Instagrammable the whole place is!)
Of course, there’s more to the pop-up store than just its interior design — with Christmas drawing near, you might still be fretting over what to get your loved ones. Well, if you know any shoe-lovers out there, you could consider getting them their favourite 327 colourways at the diner. Two signature styles, New Balance 327BTK (RSP $169) and New Balance 327SFB (RSP $169) will be headlining the pop-up.
And wait, there’s still more! In line with this season of giving, New Balance collaborates with some local brands and entrepreneurs. If you purchase either the 327BTK or 327SFB colourways at the diner, you’ll get to walk away with one of three tantalising holiday treats from Apiary, Two Men Bagel or Windowsill Pies. I don’t know about you, but free food just seals the deal for me. Do keep in mind that this is only available while stocks last (as all promotions are), so do check out the store soon!
Those who purchase any colourway of a New Balance 327 at the pop-up, on New Balance’s official website, or at the New Balance Bugis Junction and Vivo City Lighthouse Experience Stores from 14-27 December will also receive either a tote bag or T-shirt.
And that isn’t even the most exciting part about it — the complimentary tote bag or T-shirt is customisable in collaboration with local creative studio Tell Your Children.
You can personalise your own tote bag or T-shirt in an area exclusively at the New Balance 327 Diner, with a whole array of visuals and designs to choose from. Your tote bag or T-shirt will be digitally customised and printed on the spot, so you won’t have to worry about any additional waiting time for your item.
If free snacks and personalising your own tote bag/t-shirt (that is also, mind you, free) still isn’t enough for you, then maybe the thrill of a lucky draw can be the icing on the cake for you. A purchase of $200 at the pop-up store or any New Balance Lighthouse and Experience stores entitles guests to one chance at the Diner’s gumball machine!
With this, you could stand to win an additional gift that includes a New Balance water bottle, cap, socks, or even a pair of 327 collaboration sneakers — Levi’s 327, Casablanca 327 or Aries 327 (with fixed sizes). This essentially means that you have a possibility of winning another pair of New Balance shoes from the lucky draw.
Convinced now? Then wait no longer and head on down to the New Balance 327 Diner at Bugis Junction, #1-05. Hurry as the store will only last up till 27 December 2020, 11am to 9pm daily. End your year on a retro-high and waltz your way into 2021 in your new favourite 327s!
