PAUZA’s new track ‘Jungle Fever’ channels Afro-Cuban sounds with jungle-inspired melody

Enchanting, electronic Cuban duo PAUZA released their fourth track for the year, ‘Jungle Fever’, on 19 July 2019 (Friday). The track sees the powerhouse duo fuse their signature Cuban grooves with a mesmerizing jungle-inspired melody.

Paula and Zahira, who are also the first female duo of electronic music from La Habana, Cuba, have re-interpreted the cultural current of house music by adding Latin rhythms and Cuban folklore. This unique trait has given them an edge above the rest, as seen with their growing popularity.

“We channelled afro-Cuban sounds created from within the mountains that surround our island,” shared PAUZA. “Throughout the past couple of years we’ve worked toward building a life centered around our passion (for music), but staying true to our roots has allowed us to create a sound that is distinctly PAUZA.”

In ‘Jungle Fever’, PAUZA’s sultry vocals are layered over a sensual deep house lead, which explodes into a swirl of smooth, tropical sounds later in the track. Creating contrast to one of their older tracks – the energetic, dancefloor-primed ‘Se vende (dub version)’ – PAUZA affirms their ability to incorporate their Cuban groove into every genre.

In addition to their single drop, PAUZA will also be releasing a new EP in August. Titled ‘Iré’, the EP will include six tracks, and also doubles as a documentation on the evolution of the duo’s sound since the release of their debut album, ‘Hey You!’, in 2015.
