Block Live Asia, held from 18 to 19 April 2019, is a convention-cum-festival with the aim of getting more Singaporeans involved with Blockchain – a technology used by large companies such as Singapore Airlines’ implementation for a new digital wallet catered to frequent fliers.
Exhibitors at the convention include TenX, a blockchain company based in Singapore. What they are bringing to the convention is their service of on-the-go cryptocurrency spending with their TenX card. COO of TenX,
Paul Kittiwongsunthorn, said: “Our brand is helping consumers bring the entire financial service right to their fingertips.”
Another exhibitor is hoolah, a company offering a buy-now-pay-later service. “What we want to offer to consumers is the ease of payment, especially if they do not have the capital at hand,” explained COO, Arvin Singh. He continued: “I’ve actually seen instances where people were unable to purchase something, so we wanted to create a service that lets you pay in instalments later without additional interest tacked on as an option.”
There are many activities available at the convention such as photo-op spaces, creative installations, galleries, and even a movie screening about blockchain.
