PetExpo 2019: The One-Stop Fair for New And Soon-To-Be Pet Owners

So you’ve just got a new furry or feathery addition to the family, but do you really know what’s best for your pet? Given the wide array of pet food vendors and grooming studios, it is hard to know which is the right one for your pet – it is the same with all first-time pet owners. Clear all your doubts and pamper your new best friend at PetExpo 2019 – the one-stop fair for everything your pet needs.

PetExpo 2019 is back for its sixth consecutive year from 12 to 14 April 2019, offering the best in pet health and wellness – featuring new product showcases as well as curated series of talks and workshops. Held at Singapore Expo Hall 7, this year’s PetExpo is its biggest thus far; more than 90 local and regional vendors will be selling fashionable and statement accessories and furniture for pets, as well as health and wellness products across 6,500 square meters of event space.

Furthermore, PetExpo will address pet owners’ increasing demand for human grade pet food which helps to build a stronger immune system for pets. There will be a spread of grain and gluten-free options and superfoods for pets which will be on sale at the event.

Talks and Workshops

New pet owners can attend ‘Basic Nutrition for Companion Animals’ to gain better nutritional knowledge and practical skills to ensure their pets are in the best of health. To learn more about common intoxicants and poisons which your pet may be exposed to both indoors and outdoors, we recommend checking out ‘First Aid Response and Pets’ Well-being Management’ and ‘Basic Rabbit Care and What You Can Do at Home to Access Urgency of Veterinary Care’ on Friday, 12 April 2019.

First-time pet owners should also consider participating in BodyTalk and Game on with Animal Rehabilitation, also happening on Friday.

BodyTalk is a non-invasive, holistic therapy aimed at balancing the general body/mind energy of animal companions. Through biofeedback and the use of an extensive protocol chart, the practitioner can find out which imbalances within the body are a priority or are not communicating correctly, and stimulate the body’s innate ability to balance and heal itself.

Prescribed by the Rehabilitation Veterinarian on-site, Game on with Animal Rehabilitation combines balance, strength, endurance, range of motion and flexibility into a series of exercises for injury recovery and prevention for your pet.

The Animal and Veterinary Service (AVS) will also be offering a basic free pet health check at PetExpo. In addition to a physical health examination, the vet will also share some necessary pet care advice to help you better manage your pet’s health. If you have yet to get your pet chipped, you may just get lucky as some pets will also be eligible for a complimentary micro-chipping service by AVS.

Fur4Hope – The First Charity Dog Grooming Event in Singapore

Dog owners can show their support for homeless dogs by participating in Fur4Hope, the first charity dog grooming event in Singapore. The initiative aims to drive awareness about dog welfare and raise funds for AVS’s rehoming partners. Fur4Hope offers Hair Extension, Nail Care, Hair Care and Express Haircut with 100% of the proceeds going towards participating dog shelters on Friday, 12 April 2019.

Adoption Drive

Not a pet owner but looking to adopt? PetExpo works great for prospective pet owners too! In addition to learning everything you need to know about pet health and wellness, you can welcome a new family member your home as well.

Participate in AVS’s adoption drive, and meet with new bunnies, cats and dogs from the 13 participating animal welfare organisations, including Save Our Street Dogs Singapore (SOSD), Causes for Animals Singapore, Cat Welfare Society and Animal Lovers League.
