Singapore’s sustainable music and picnic festival, Garden Beats, returns for its fifth year anniversary this Saturday on 9 March 2019. For the first time ever, Garden Beats has specially curated new back-to-back programmes alongside its stellar line-up of
The Music Lineup
This year, Garden Beats will be broadening its music horizon with veteran English Indie band, The Kooks, and a brand new mix of R&B acts, Alina Baraz and
Eco-Friendly Initiatives
Since 2018, Garden Beats has taken its first steps towards becoming the first carbon-neutral music festival in Singapore. This year, Garden Beats takes it a notch further with a complete ban of single-use plastics and opting for bio-degradable cups and cutleries. Recycling and food composting stations will also be made available at the festival grounds. Besides, the festival will be introducing the Garden Beats Tin Cups, which allows festival-goers to receive a discount when purchasing drinks!
Picnic Fields
Nestled amidst the lush greenery of Fort Canning Park, the Picnic Fields will be the perfect spot for a picturesque picnic on the hill. For those who do not have the time to prep for their own picnic, head down to Culinary Fields for its pop-up stalls and enjoy an array of mouth-watering savoury treats from vegan to meat delights. Vendors include Don Ho, Dumpling Darlings, Udders, Papi’s Tacos, Fat Prince, Kult Kafe and 25 Degrees.
Wellness
Treat yourself to a relaxing afternoon at the Zen Garden – Garden Beats’ first-ever wellness oasis. Festival-goers may revitalise their mind, body and soul in a unique outdoor setting surrounded by the tranquillity of Fort Canning Park or take a break away from the hustle and bustle of the festival and retreat to the Flower Fortress.
Arts
Show off your creative flair at Garden Beats’ Conscious Workshops. Explore how colour pigments were created back in the day using fruits, plants and foliage, or find out how to make your own unique natural aroma-therapeutic DIY (do-it-yourself) body mist. Don’t forget to leave your mark at the Garden Beats Giant Mural or the festival’s iconic Arch of Love.
Playing and Styling Fields
Get competitive at our crowd-favourite lawn games – cornhole, ring toss, sack race, Jenga or hula hoop – and remember to keep your eyes peeled for a few new additions!
At the Styling Fields, festival-goers can complete their festival fashion look with biodegradable glitter, DIY headbands, express nail fix and temporary tattoos.
