Christian pop duo for KING & COUNTRY Makes Its Shining Singapore Debut This February

Witness Grammy award-winning for KING & COUNTRY at their first-ever concert in Singapore, as part of their Burn The Ships World Tour – held at Gateway Theatre on 11 February 2019.

Released in October 2018, for KING & COUNTRY’s third album Burn The Ships explores themes of new beginnings, forgiveness, hope, and love. The much-awaited album held the No. 1 spot for four consecutive weeks since its release and has been streamed more than 17 million times.

The title track was inspired by a 15th century Spanish explorer who boldly landed his ships on enemy shores without any knowledge of what awaited his arrival. To ensure that the men were committed to their mission, he proclaimed, “Burn the ships!” The only way to go was onward; retreat was not an option. “That is the big statement that this collection of songs is making,” says Luke. “We don’t want to live in the past; we want to move forward.”

Burn the Ships is also the duo’s most personal work to date as the songs reflect some of the most meaningful and terrifying moments of their lives. “It isn’t perfect – far from it – but there is a sense of truthfulness and a heart and a personality and an ideology behind this record,” says Joel.

Born in Sydney, Australia, for KING & COUNTRY comprises of brothers Joel and Luke Smallbone. When Luke was 19 and Joel was 21, they formed a band and began writing and recording the body of work that would become for KING & COUNTRY.

They released their debut album Crave in 2012 and won New Artist of the Year at the 2013 Dove Awards, where they received six nominations. The duo’s gold-certified album RUN WILD. LIVE FREE. LOVE STRONG. debuted at No.1 on iTunes and produced two Grammys, four Dove Awards, and a hugely successful 60-date arena tour.

Joining the Smallbone brothers on stage is their ever-dependable band. Despite having to switch between instruments live on stage, they do it so seamlessly you would either barely notice it or think it was part of the show. Unlike other tour bands, the showmanship displayed by for KING & COUNTRY’s band is so spectacular that you would have to see it to believe it. The band is one of the things that make a for KING & COUNTRY concert stand out from the rest – truly a visual treat that must not be missed!
