The Podium Lounge Singapore Closes 10-Year Anniversary Party With A Bang

Over the Formula One race weekend from 14 to 16 September 2018, The Podium Lounge Singapore celebrated its 10th anniversary at The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore. The Podium Lounge is essentially the most glamorous celebration of Singapore’s iconic night race and is situated conveniently within the premises of the tracks, and directly across the F1 Paddock.

Podium Lounge Singapore: Crowd

The party hosts F1 drivers, teams, celebrities, supermodels and Asia’s jet-setting party elite each year. In its tenth year, the sold-out Podium Lounge was more jam-packed than ever as the ultra lounge accommodated thousands of guests every night.

On Race Night (16 September), and the final night of The Podium Lounge Singapore’s celebrations, the party started with an auction of Formula One merchandise and memorabilia, such as driver gloves, exclusively signed driver helmets, and plaques of signatures from former F1 World Championship-winning drivers. It was plain to see that charity has been a major focus of The Podium Lounge weekend, with all proceeds going to a local charity. One of these items includes a Lewis Hamilton signed race glove showcasing the multiple Formula 1 World Champion, among others.

One of the highlights of the night was when American rapper Taboo from The Black Eyed Peas made a grand appearance. Having sold over 50 million albums globally, the member of the Grammy Award-winning urban group certainly kept true to form at the high octane party. Taboo is a talented and unique performer, and an acclaimed DJ in his own right. He got the night started by belting out memorable and classic hits from the beloved hip-hop group such as “Where Is The Love”, “Let’s Get It Started” and “I Gotta Feeling”, working every corner of the crowd and filling the dancefloor with writhing bodies and smiling faces.

Taboo also announced the release of The Black Eyed Peas’ latest album, Masters of the Sun Vol. 1, and dropped the group’s first single in a decade – “Big Love”.

At around 3am, the Singapore Grand Prix 2018 winner Lewis Hamilton turned up at the party, an appearance that got many staring from a distance. Celebrating his victory with his friends, it was one night to remember for Hamilton and all of us in attendance.
