Held at the Bayfront Avenue area near Marina Bay Sands last weekend, Ultra Music Festival 2018 saw top DJs Afrojack, DJ Snake, Steve Angello, and more whipping out mixes after mixes, filling the atmospheric mood with electrifying beats and a sense of escapism.
Like previous Ultra editions, three different stages were set up to cater to a large variety of EDM sub-genres: the Resistance stage is where deep house lovers call home; the Worldwide stage – replacing the “Live Stage” last year and making its debut from Ultra Miami – became the place to be for an authentic rave party, and for both veterans and first-time Ultranauts to discover new music. The Main Stage attracted crowds for its big names and seasoned DJs, and was the centre of all action: confetti, streamers, smoke effects, and even fireworks bursting into the skies whenever the beat drops.
Over the years, the Ultra brand has become synonymous with the quintessential EDM festival on an international scale, and it shows with a crowd hailing from all around the world. While they were there to party, make no mistake when I say that these Ultranauts certainly came prepared to dazzle. From face tattoos and glitter dust makeup accompanied with jewels to the efforts made to dress up for the occasion, there were definitely loud personalities that spiced up the festival mood! On top of all that, when you witness an aged man having the time of his life raving at the Ultra Music Festival, it only goes to show one thing: no one is too old to party.
The Ultra Music Festival 2018 in Singapore may have ended, but the crowd’s youthful spirit and vigour live on forever in photos. Here’s a showcase of the Ultranauts who came dressed to impress, and everyone else who was there simply having the time of their lives with like-minded music lovers!
