Debut of a Masterpiece: The LEGO Technic 42083 Bugatti Chiron

Fancy owning a piece of hypercar luxury? Well, LEGO certainly has that covered for you! On 1 June 2018, the LEGO Technic Bugatti Chiron was officially unveiled at LEGO House at the company’s headquarters in Billund, and a limited number of the models are now available for purchase at LEGO Certified Stores islandwide and online stores such as Bricks World and The Brick Shop, while stocks last.

The LEGO model stays true to Bugatti’s heritage, featuring the classic duo-tone blue colour scheme which reflects the brand’s signature colour.

While you can’t actually ride in this one, it will certainly be within the budget for many of us – with its retail price of SGD$599.90 – and it is definitely much more available than its real counterpart, which is limited to 500 cars.

This 1:8 scale LEGO Technic 42083 Bugatti Chiron replica model comes in at 14cm in height, 56cm in length, and 25cm in width. Comprised of a staggering 3,599 pieces, the LEGO model is packed full of intricate details that reflect the high standards of design and engineering that both LEGO and Bugatti hold true to.

The cockpit is highly detailed and comes equipped with fully functional paddle shift gearbox and steering wheel.

Pop the rear engine bay open and you will be greeted with a W16 cylinder engine block with moving pistons. The cockpit of the model comes to life with highly detailed interiors of the dashboard and its prominent arching curve in the middle. The model is even equipped with a fully functional steering wheel (bearing the iconic Bugatti emblem) and a paddle gear shift which is connected to a LEGO Technic 8-speed gearbox.

The attention to details extends to the spoke wheel rims that are specifically designed for this LEGO model set, and the brake discs and suspensions that are hidden behind it.

The set comes with suspension systems as well as highly detailed brake discs and custom wheel rims.

The LEGO model comes equipped with an active rear spoiler that can be activated with this speed key, which can be used to activate the active rear wing to top speed. Fans of the Bugatti Chiron will immediately recognise the resemblance of the speed key to the actual key used to engage the Chiron to reach its electronically-limited top speed of 420 km/h.

The rear wing can be activated by inserting and twisting the Lego-built key.

Each individual model comes personalised with its own unique serial number, carefully stored under the hood to unlock special content on LEGO’s Bugatti Chiron owners-only site. Delivering a final ‘artistic’ touch, the set comes enclosed in an exclusive box and includes a ‘coffee table’ style collectors booklet with comprehensive building instructions. A nine-podcast series featuring Bugatti and LEGO experts is also available online for fans who are interested in the inspiration behind the LEGO design of the Bugatti Chiron.

But that’s not all! From now till 22 June 2018, 10 lucky winners will have the chance to win exclusive VVIP passes to Southeast Asia’s first ever prestigious automotive event – the Fullerton Concours D’Elegance 2018 – with every purchase of the LEGO Technic Bugatti Chiron.

Are you going to own one of these masterpieces?

Each ticket entitles access to the car show, as well as the once-in-a-lifetime chance to sit inside the multi-million-dollar hypercar. Visitors will also have the chance to visit the LEGO Technic Bugatti Chiron X The Bugatti Chiron juxtaposed display at the Fullerton Hotel lobby, on 1 July 2018, from 12pm to 2pm.
