Boston-based Rock Trio PVRIS To Perform in Singapore

We don’t need a metaphor for you to know that PVRIS will be performing in Singapore for the very first time!

As part of LAMC Productions’ Rising Star Series, the synth-rock trio will be performing at Hard Rock Cafe Singapore (Cuscaden) on Tuesday, 26 June 2018. PVRIS (pronounced “Paris”), consists of frontwoman Lynn Gunn (vocalist), Alex Babinski (guitarist), and Brian MacDonald (bassist).

Formed in 2012, PVRIS was originally a metalcore band and played sporadic support shows, most notably alongside A Skylit Drive, Emarosa, Muse, 30 Seconds to Mars, Fall Out Boy, Mayday Parade, Pierce the Veil, Sleeping with Sirens, and more. Since their 2013 self-titled EP release and after signing with Rise Records, they released their critically acclaimed debut album in 2014, White Noise, which featured hits “St. Patrick”, “You and I”, and “My House”.

Known for their distinctive sound of dreamy electronic fused with rhythm-driven hard rock and dark lyrics, the Boston-based trio is a force to be reckoned with: PVRIS won the Best International Newcomer during the Relentless Kerrang! Awards in 2015, and the Breakthrough Band award for the Alternative Press Music Awards in the same year. Most recently, the band won the Artist of the Year award for the Rock Sound Awards in 2017, and Lynn Gunn won the Best Vocalist award for the Alternative Press Music Awards in the same year as well.

Frontwoman Lynn Gunn was also recognised as one of Billboard’s pop culture luminaries that have been featured during their Gay Pride month feature last year. Her ‘love letter’ to the LGBTQ community shared about her personal experience on coming out to her parents and the world, and how she aims to become a role model – not just as a female representation in the punk world – but as an openly gay frontwoman and being her authentic self to empower others to be at peace with themselves.

She told Fuse TV: “I’ve definitely noticed a lot of people have been opening up to me about their own sexualities, which is awesome because I never really had anyone to look up to when I was younger.”

The band played their first American headlining tour in 2016, and since then, they have been undertaking an extensive UK & Europe tour last year, the Coachella stage last month, and is ready to hit our stage for the very first time!

Expect your eardrums to be treated with melodic hits from PVRIS’ sophomore 10-track album, All We Know of Heaven, All We Need of Hell, released in August last year.
