Nathan Hartono Showcases His Dancing Chops With Debut Mandarin Single

Now hold my Milo Peng as we announce this: Nathan Hartono dropped not one, but two music videos for his debut Mandarin single, 《爱超给电》!

Following his success as the first runner-up on the inaugural season of Sing! China,《爱超给电》marks Nathan’s official foray into the Chinese market. Loosely translated to ‘Electric Love’, 《爱超给电》is a Mandarin rendition of his previously released single, Electricity, in 2016.

To make sure that you get absolutely electrified, the 26-year-old heartthrob released two different versions of his feel-good pop single. Describing the first version of the music video as a “love letter to all shapes, sizes, and colours of love”, Nathan is dressed in bold Japanese-inspired outfits along with dancers dressed in cultural costumes for the first version of the music video. On the contrary, the second version exemplifies the local musician’s versatility as a performer as he showcases his sleek dance moves in the beautiful city of Tokyo, Japan.

Be one of the first to ogle at the music videos here!

If you were impressed with the visually captivating music videos, it was all possible due to a coincidental partnership with renowned Tokyo-based Singaporean photographer and film director, Leslie Kee.

Nathan said: “He’s always laser-focused on the art of creation and brings a wild, frenetic energy to the table, always searching for ideas and inspiration. Being around that kind of energy is inspiring in so many ways.”

Although the music videos would only be officially released on Nathan Hartono’s official YouTube channel tomorrow, fans could head on to MTV Asia over the next three days for the music videos’ exclusive premiere, and it is slated to take place on MTV Asia, MTV China, and on their website (www.mtvasia.com).

The single will also be one of five tracks featured on a full Mandarin EP slated to drop later this year, and would also consist of “exciting brand new material”, said record label Warner Music.

What do you think of this? We admit that between the two music videos, the first version wins. I mean, come on… Nathan Hartono in guyliner? Consider my Milo Peng spilled.
