Guzman y Gomez Celebrates SG60 with Their New Laksa Barramundi Filling

With National Day coming in less than a month, we’re seeing lots of brands celebrating SG60 in their own way! And one of them is Guzman y Gomez, who introduces their new Laksa Barramundi filling – a nod to one of Singapore’s most iconic dishes!

Available only for a limited time from 15 July to 24 August 2025, this new addition marries tender pan-seared barramundi fillets with flavourful and aromatic homemade laksa sauce that we’ve come to know and love.

The filling includes a complex blend of ingredients to bring out its vibrant flavour, like dried shrimp, candlenut, and laksa leaves. Laksa isn’t laksa without having spices in the mix, and Guzman y Gomez makes use of a multitude of them, including lemongrass, turmeric and galangal.

You may be surprised to know that local restaurant chain The Coconut Club also had a hand in creating the filling, with Guzman y Gomez using their premium cold-pressed ‘White Sutera’ coconut milk (derived from a blend of Kampong and Mawa coconuts) to add richness and deliver a deeper flavour and velvety mouthfeel.

Like all items on the Guzman y Gomez menu, the Laksa Barramundi is 100% clean – no added preservatives, artificial flavours, added colours, and unacceptable additives.

Laksa Barramundi can be enjoyed in any of the Guzman y Gomez classics. That includes Burritos, Bowls, Tacos, Quesadillas, and more (excluding the $3 Taco) for just a S$1 top-up! As a rice lover, the Burrito Bowl is my pick – the combination of the flavourful spiced kick from the laksa sauce with the rice alongside the juicy barramundi fillets went really well together.

And there’s more from Guzman y Gomez as well! Alongside the new filling, they are also adding Street Corn to their sides menu. A popular presence within Mexico’s street food scene, Guzman y Gomez’s iteration sees sautéed corn seasoned with chipotle, before being drizzled with their famous chipotle mayonnaise and finished with a sprinkle of Jack cheese and fresh Pico de Gallo.
