Say ‘Lumos’ because something mystical is lighting up in Singapore very soon! Or at least, soon-ish. I know we can’t believe that 2023 is already ending, but now, we can’t wait for 2024. Why, you ask? Harry Potter: A Forbidden Forest Experience is making its Asia-Pacific debut right here in Singapore on 3 February 2024! The trail will light up, magic will be all around, and the essence of Harry Potter will be in our very midst. It seems so far away, so we offer you an olive branch you’ll love – tickets will be available from 16 November 2023!
Together with Fever and IMG, Warner Bros. Discovery Global Themed Entertainment is bringing the Forbidden Forest Experience to the Coastal Trail at Sentosa in February 2024, which was a massive success in the US and the UK (are we at all surprised?). If you loved the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts series, then the mysteries and enchantment of the Forbidden Forest are not at all unknown to you.
Mesmerising lights transform this relatively mundane part of Sentosa into witchcraft galore! As day turns into night and the twinkling sky takes our city ahold, the Forbidden Forest awakens, unravelling its magic. Feast your eyes upon the mystical creatures that mysteriously come to life away from the world of Hogwarts. Get ready to say hello to Hippogriffs, Unicorns, Nifflers, and more! You will also spot iconic scenes from the movies being recreated in this bewitching forest as if teleporting you to Hogwarts!
Not only that, it’s time to put those spells you’ve been reciting to yourself since you watched the movies for the first time to practice! Get your wands and spells ready as you take on the Forbidden Forest and unleash your inner wizards!
Expect the trail to take 45 to 60 minutes to complete, sighting along the way all the fun interactions that await your arrival. Brace yourself for the long walk with the iconic beverage of the wizarding world: Butterbeer! With a tinge of alcohol, this sweet beverage will make the trail a much more exciting one, if you know what we mean!
People in the UK and the US who have visited their versions of the Forbidden Forest have taken to TikTok to gush about the interactivity and beautiful photos that can come out of this experience! You can also find out and cast your own Patronus – a kind of Anti-Dementor who is a guardian which acts as a shield between you and the Dementor. Make sure to yell ‘EXPECTO PATRONUM’!
At the end of the magnificent experience, take the time to explore and shop for exclusive merchandise from the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts movies at the gift shop! You never know what goodies you might find that will end up in your Harry Potter collection. This shopping experience combines the healing of retail therapy with the healing of childhood experiences and memories. How beautiful!

Dress comfortably! It’s a trail. It’s a long walk. You’re literally in a forest in Sentosa. It will get humid and exhausting, so dress for the occasion. Wear comfortable walking shoes and airy clothing. It will also be outdoors, so come prepared with an umbrella or poncho, just in case it comes pouring down. February may be one of Singapore’s dryer months, but if spending our whole lives in Singapore has taught us anything, the weather here is the most unpredictable. So it never hurts to be too prepared!
The Harry Potter: A Forbidden Forest Experience may open its metaphorical doors in February 2024, but tickets are up for sale very soon. From 16 November 2023, tickets will be available for purchase. But from now till then, you can also waitlist yourself for the big day.
This seems awfully reminiscent of concert ticket bloodbaths! Does anyone know a spell to get your tickets with no waiting and no queuing? No? Alright!
